I just went to vote and the line was around the block...I live in Bedford Ohio and

it is never crowded. I have lived here for more than five years off and on...we had another house that we were back and forth to in Cortland. Hubs worked in Cleveland before the kids were out of school I have never seen such a line...not in the entire time I lived here. And the folks in line didn't look like Trump voters either. Too long a wait for hubs with neuropathy. So we will try again in a couple of hours.

Grew up in Maple Heights and had many friends in Bedford as well. We used to play a game of trying to drive through Bedford Resevation (a Metropark for those who don’t know) without using our brakes.

Anyway, in deep red Portage County since 2009. The most I have ever had to wait for voting was about 6 people. This year it was 20 minutes.

Voted for Sherrod, Kamala and Issue 1. The language that Yost and LaRose used on Issue 1 was disgusting.

I reckon you can bank on long lines being part of the suppression things. Ditto laws prohibiting giving water/snacks to people waiting in long lines. The GOP knows that the more voters there are, the less GOP office holders there will be. And yet, they don't adjust policies nor pick better candidates.

I was trying to help a friend with multiple health challenges vote by mail which her disabilities allow in Texas. It was very difficult (because she moved at the beginning of October to a new Austin address and had to cancel the first mail-in ballot, register at her new address, and reapply). She received her mail-in ballot torn and also on Saturday but had no transportation to go to a post office to mail it. I advised her to go to her polling location, have them document her unused mail-in ballot and destroy it, and vote in person. Luckily her HUD housing authority had a vote center just around the block from her apartment (bless them)! Just got notified that she got that done.

I have worked polls in 4 different places. In all of them, if they know someone has special challenges, will pull them to the front.

Also, see if you can snag a rolling walker somewhere. If the he doesn't want the attention of special treatment, or they won't do it, he will have a seat as needed.

I don’t know if all counties have it, but I worked the polls here for 20 years and they always heavily emphasize ADA accessibility in trainings. Just park and go in and tell a poll worker that you have a disabled voter in the car and they will come outside, one poll worker from each party, check ID, then return with a ballot. Good luck!

and while there was a line where there had never been a line before (WNC), it wasn't bad. I would not be able to stand in those long lines, my left leg would first tingle and then get more and more numb the longer I stood. I had been thinking that if we were facing that, I would likely go to the thrift shops and find one of those walkers that has a seat on the front.

Federal law.

That's specifically what the DOJ is monitoring in St. Louis, Missouri and I'm sure it's part of what is being monitored in other states.

Your elections office can facilitate you accessing curbside voting or getting to the front of the line if you have any problems at your polling location. Or call Election Protection (866) OUR-VOTE, that's (866) 687-8683.
