We are under a dense fog advisory this morning. *sigh*

I've worked myself into such a frantic state that I haven't been able to sleep at all, and instead I've been ranting on DU all night. It's just starting to get light and I can barely see across the street because the fog is so dense. I guess it's a sign - it sure seems appropriate.

I hear ya.

Late yesterday afternoon I made a quick trip to the store. The sky was dark, surly, ominous. As I entered an old former neighbor--Democrat woman, close to 90--was coming out. I hadn't seen her in at least 5 years, although she lives in the same small, red Iowa town as I. She was shrunken, bent, and clearly wore an expression of fear, worry. We chatted a bit and did my best to reassure her that "we got this."

Fast forward... I couldn't sleep... Was up about 10 times. About 3 a.m. I went outside to pull in my yard signs (I went 0-4 for the night) and a damp and eerie fog had rolled in.

Omens. America--what has it done?
