I want the votes cast to be closely examined. We know tech Bros were in it with putin, who steals every election

(18,925 posts)This isn't just any concession speech, after all. This is a moment of monumental historical importance (and not in a good way ). Fairly or not, a lot of people will be expecting her to say something that befits the seriousness of the moment.
I don't know what she could possibly say that would make this any easier or make us, her supporters, feel any better, but I think the delay is an indication that she is taking this very seriously and will do her best to rise to the occasion. I will definitely be tuning in at 6pm EST (5pm my time).

The only one left is to storm the Capitol on January 6.

(2,528 posts)Too many votes for not that many people. But it's probably not the reason. Men don't want a woman president and so they didn't vote at all.

(84,607 posts)Although many probably DID vote that way. We had the secrecy of the vote to give us cover. But so did they.

(2,528 posts)trump had the young male vote. They did not think the Democratic Party "spoke" to them. They thought it was too focused on abortion issues. Makes sense--these are kids 18 to, say, 25. Many aren't married or even in a relationship with a woman that they love. They certainly don't have teenage daughters to worry about. They are, at that point, the definition of "self-centered." Women's issues would be at the bottom of their priority list. Meanwhile, they thought trump did great with the economy. A 20 year old now was 12 when trump was elected in 2016 and 16 when he lost to Biden. So, these 12-16-year-old kids were right on top of the US economy under trump and that guided their vote at age 20. Yeah, right. They just don't care about women. But apparently they learned well at trump's knee about how to lie very poorly. It's not that I don't understand; I understand completely. But don't lie about how great the economy was under him.

(13,913 posts)what's at stake. Dems and conscientious Americans did not turn out to vote in large numbers like they did in 2020.
Most Americans aren't all that smart and have short memories. It's the economy and immigration reform. They can't quite understand that to even fix those you need to have a functioning democracy.
Sigh...
That Harris received 18M less votes than Biden did in 2020 is raising all sorts of uncomfortable questions about this election and 2020.

Folks, the really bad part will come with the new congress. Normalcy is a thing of the past. Grow up and know it. The value of honor has long been inflated, much to our chagrin.
