These salacious ads ran 10 times for every Kamala ad down here and people were saying they were spending $100 a week extra on groceries
and Kamala was giving taxpayer money for sex change operations.

(12,398 posts)It's sad how many people will buy into the stupidest lies without putting forth one ounce of effort to find the truth.

(7,425 posts)was ugly, but apparently effective. That's the same ad that they show these small girl basketball/volleyball players standing next to a big ugly guy claiming that's what Democrats want.
I think the immigration issue was huge, just another minority group for GOPers to demonize/vilify. I've been called an open-border supporter by GOPers, but we probably should have shut down the border some time ago, even if only symbolic. Hope we can still protect those who have been here for awhile, contributing to our community.
I still support Biden's stance, "I will not vilify those who came here for a better life." Or something like that.

(45 posts)They got people talking and whether they were outright lies or just a dubious reframing of the issues, they were effective. They played to the base and had appeal to moderates, people who don't pay attention to politics and otherwise unaffiliated voters. THAT is why he got the numbers he got. The pure connection to economic reality and taxpayer funds going to these supposed issues while people were feeling the pinch in their wallets due to a failed Trump economy and the recovery during Biden was too much to ignore. And I feel like we largely ignored it without addressing the issue head-on.
Agreed on the border. That was another red meat, low information centric appeal that was very effective.

(751 posts)we had so much money and so much truth to work with and yet we couldn't run enough non stop fear trump ads to match theirs? IDK. I think our side's ads are too smart maybe. Require thought. I always also feel that we don't take enough credit for the things dems to, especially with the economy. Foolishly expecting people to know how much they benefit. People in unions voting against unions, teacher voting against DOE, seniors on social security, health care, the list goes on.

(112,959 posts)...and it will always be a loser.
It was an issue everywhere. At least, the Repubs were able to make it an issue everywhere.
Democrats tried to ignore it but the Republicans were like a dog on a bone, they would not let it go.

(1,231 posts)voters didn't understand that outfits like the Independent Women's Forum, Alliance for Defending Freedom, and Concerned Women for America (all members of the secretive Council for National Policy and involved in Project 2025) don't want Title IX to exist at all--they contend it takes money away from men--and want to abolish the Department of Education, thus making Title IX moot.
There won't be a Title IX to worry about sports or other sex-based protections. They just won't exist because women will be pushed out of public life.

(4,085 posts)That was bad for us. Really bad. Those ads were played constantly in PA as well.
The whole trans thing, while perfectly acceptable to us, is still alien and very weird to most people. And while it harms literally no one, the pukes made it seem as if it was being forced on children and ubiquitous.
The prisoner aspect made it even worse.
Its such a fucking shame that treating people decently and leaving them alone is such a problem.

(8,119 posts)I posted here several times, in the hopes that somebody from the campaign or somebody that knew someone in the campaign would see it. Her campaign did not respond effectively or enough to the attack ads

(21,906 posts)When she went on FOX News and asked her about it is the only real response she had and that was to say that it was a policy under Trump.
You can't let something go and expect the public will figure out the truth themselves, you have to fight every lie and every distortion.
