Biden has two months of unchecked power per SCOTUS. Should he use it? If so, how?

I think he should grant immediate amnesty/pardons for anyone the right deems to be here illegally. Make them legal residents.

I'm not going to advocate for Biden to do anything that is illegal; but the above action is well within traditional presidential powers.

They said that many of the things he could try would be immune from criminal prosecution. But they would still be clearly illegal and subject to court intervention to stop them, immediately if necessary.

I am not a statesman thus I hesitate to articulate for fear that I may deviate from the true course of rectitude.

I am confident that Biden is a statesman surrounded by equally competent statesmen that do not suffer fools gladly.

Reason will never desist in it's fight against delusion and malevolence, because reason knows that it's absence within the fight, delusion and malevolence will always rule.

May reason rule.

I don’t know how he could do it but this is way up my wish list.

(There’s a good chance they’re ( Biden & Harris) gaming how to avoid future prosecutions and will make some kind of deal to not rock the boat).

Regardless of who won the presidency or control of the Senate.

“We are going to use the lame duck to confirm judges. And we’re going to do everything we can to get as many judges done as possible, trying to overcome the Republican obstruction,” Schumer told NBC News in a recent interview.

It would be different if we'd won and there was a clear danger. But we lost. It wouldn't be just the leaders we'd be fighting. It'd be the country. We're outnumbered, we don't have the billionaires, we don't have the propaganda machine, we don't have the churches, and we apparently don't have the ability to recruit enough new voters.

I can't and won't speak for any of you. But my plan is to shut up, hunker down, and hope that I haven't posted in enough places and spaces for the knock to come on my door in the early hours.

We tried, but they started in the 90's, established a massive propaganda machine, wrecked public education, enlisted the churches, and now they have an unbeatable coalition of a) the evil, b) the stupid, c) the greedy, and d) all of the above (e.g., fundamentalists). They played the long game, and they have won.

Regimes never last forever. Dynastic Egypt fell. Democratic Rome fell. The Roman Empire fell. Incas and Aztecs fell. The Catholic Church fell from power. The Soviet Union fell. The democratic United States has now fallen. The authoritarian version will, too. And since I cannot change the authoritarian U.S. and I cannot leave it, I will have to learn to live in it.

The whole point of immunity is that it prevents a president from being criminally prosecuted for unlawful acts. But it doesn't make them lawful and it doesn't prevent the courts from intervening to reverse and enjoin unlawful acts nor does it mean the numerous officials who would have to carry out these unlawful acts would do so simply because the president can't go to jail for ordering them.

The Constitution gives him the right to issue pardons and such. The Fifth Amendment protects people from being prosecuted/punished for crimes they have been cleared (or pardoned).

The difference is that SCOTUS will block anything illegal that Biden does. They will not block anything illegal that Trump does.

It will take another 4-6 years to put an agenda in place and for the US version of Putin to rise to the front.
Right now, he's a petty Upper-Mid level Bureaucrat or the "go to" Operations Manager with contacts in several factions - may be in the Heritage Foundation or "Federalist" Society, or any number of conservative think tanks. But whomever he will be, he knows almost everyone who's important behind Project ,2025, and he's not stupid.
The leaders - the Radical Conservatives, Tech Bros, Finance Bois, Media moguls, Evangelicals - they're going to start fighting each other for the chance to drive the Government cart. And they all believe in a zero-sum game.

Not meaning to be so negative, but I don't see how we can stop the worst from happening now.

The thing that really is making me most upset. I kept telling people what he was in 2016 and their only response was I was listening to too much news and doomsday prophesying. Now a lot of them are saying damn you were right. No shit Sherlock. Saying that now doesn't help them or me. It's fucking too late.
