14. I have been walking every weekday morning with a neighbor for about 10+ years. She is a Republican who I believe voted

for Biden the first time. This time she seems to have been all in for Trump. She thinks he is funny. I cannot remember what I said but it was not too political. She then said that that Trump never colluded with Russia and that basically the Democrats made that up. Then I mentioned Project 2025, and she said Trump knows nothing about that and that it won't affect the country anyway. Then later in our walk, we were discussing our current HOA Board (all Trumpists), and she called them a bunch of dictators. Such a disconnect. I live in Oregon right outside of Portland. There are a lot of right-wingers in east Multnomah County. I live in an affluent neighborhood, so most of these people will be okay, at least at the start. In two years, I expect we will start hearing that "I never thought this would happen". I feel super sad.

I honestly don't think watching and losing loved ones will make these people regret their vote. We have already lived through that. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their friends and family during assholes mishandling of COVID. All it took was for him to call it a hoax and all is forgotten and forgiven. Lt. Hanley is disguised as an Albanian officer. While sitting in a train station, 2 Hitler Youth come up and ask him about his uniform. "Albania". So, the one kid pulls out his Nazi handbook and looks it up. He then reports to who he thinks is a Nazi officer (that turns out to be a British undercover officer) to tell him Hanley looks suspicious because his uniform doesn't match the drawing in his handbook. The thing I think he will try hardest at is punishing anyone who disagrees with him or reported negatively on him. I don't think Americans will react kindly to reporters and politicians being imprisoned.
