(1,510 posts)and OMG, Toilet Paper! What if we can't get toilet paper??
I have a stack of Trump campaign literature which I stole off of people's front doors,
but that won't last long....
(never quite understood the panic over toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic,
which actually CAUSED the shortage... which caused ME to buy more than I would have.
I bought mine at Dollar Tree, which had no shortage....)

(8,295 posts)Of the 245 million eligible voters, only 58 percent chose to cast ballots. Regardless of the cause/excuses/rationalizations, that is 102 million who didn't care enough to save democracy or make a small effort to help those around them. Combined with the 73 million who actively cast votes for brazen insanity and criminality, that makes 175 million Americans who are in opposition to democracy.
Our species hasn't changed at all since the Roman Empire. Provide enough distraction, enough bread and circuses, suppress information and critical thought, and it won't be a challenge for the ruling order to remain in place until the bedlam from the increasingly chaotic and deadly ecosphere wipes away civilization altogether.
