I want to float an idea. Starting February 1, we unite and unify via a weekly common message

on our social media.
EVERYONE OF US.
We all post the exact same message one of which is our unified message.
On your FB page
On your instagram page
On your X page
Or if you have no social media, your email.

These are fictitious examples only. Let me say that the spirit of Michele Obama has moved me to do something. That is why I’m proposing this idea. The DU community is perfect. Just think about just once a week flooding our email and or social media with a coordinated message possibility reaching thousands of people via sharing or forwarding. This is my idea to do an end around right wing messages.

(Example)
The fact of the week.
The average price of eggs last week in the trump administration was $5.25 a doz and gas was $2.97 per gal.
During the Biden Administration, average price of eggs were $5.25 a doz, and gas was $2.88
Why are prices in the trump adminstration not down?

(Example)
The fact of the week.
Federal DOJ employees are now required by the trump administration to sign a pledge loyal to trump.
Federal DOJ employees during the Biden adminstration swore an oath to the Constitution not to a person.
Are you ok with a pledge to a person instead of the constitution?

(Example)
The fact of the week
This week, the trump administration withdrew American support for the Ukrainian's and the US will no longer provide money or weapons. This will allow Putin to advance his war into Poland.
During the Biden Adminstration the US gave money and weapons and rallied our allies to also give money and weapons for the Ukrainian to remain a democracy. This helped Ukraine to fight and resist Putin’s killing of Ukrainians and to advance into Poland.

Each week there will be enough egregious examples of horrible policies to pick from.
All that needs to be done is to keep it short and factual.
Resist from our keyboards. Fight fire with fire.
But let me be clear, this is only affective if it is consistently posted by a huge number of D U members. It does not work without big numbers.

Thoughts welcomed.

Peace
Ninga

mean that DU doesn’t care? Or think it’s a stupid idea without bothering to say so?
It seems if a poster really crabs in a creative way, his post spikes to the Greatest.

But it’s going to require more than that. We’re going to have to weaponize information moving forward like they do or we don’t stand a chance.

For what it’s worth, I love the idea. Short, specific, and a get to the point bottom line. Excellent.

Like many worthwhile things, it will need to grow over time.

May I suggest you simply start doing it? Promote it. Refine it. Believe in it. Also — if we line up 100 similar weekly blasts, from various sources, find a way to make yours instantly recognizable. Just my .02 cents, disregard if it doesn’t resonate with your vision.

Good luck! A sincere grass roots response sounds great.

people are still in shock and processing. It's not that they don't care. I'd put this out again in a few weeks, and again a couple of months after the dreaded inauguration.

I would even post it on my facebook page, even though I rarely look at it. have a few small text chat groups I could do too. as long as short, concise, one at a time, and actually factual/true.

I think it would be a good uniter for us, but also, it would be something to send specifically to trumpers to get through their fox fog.

I wonder what a single, easily digested, weekly debunk would do to them.

It gives the DU community something to rally around and push a message as things go south. Which they surely will.

Personally, I wasn't ignoring the idea. I just caught it this morning. Haven't been online much and I've shied away from cable.

Still in shock.

But I listened to Eric Swalwell on the Meidas Touch podcast this morning while care-taking the dogs. The conversation energized me. Swalwell and his family have been threatened continuously. But he's ready to go on offense along with other House members. They're strategizing and so should pro-democracy communities around the country and world.

It's certainly better than pointing fingers and/or howling at the moon.

Thanks for that!

There was another DU member yesterday who reminded everyone that resistance comes in many forms including writing, painting, sculpting, music, photography, etc. Whatever our discipline, we can work within that form and circulate those images and efforts online.

The Art of Resistance. I like it!

will look like, what myriad forms it will take on the granular level. This is a great idea. Unfortunately I would be a useless participant as I don’t engage on Social Media and all my friends are liberals. But I support the concept and would give thought as to how I could do that tangibly.
