for our children and their children -- who will have no choice but to live in this world we're leaving them.
The fight for control of the House is ONGOING. The House majority has still not been determined, and Hakeem Jeffries leading a House majority would stand in the way of Trump's total domination of the Federal Government.
Please consider helping in this fight by donating to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee now.
They need money to fund the critical election fights that are still ahead.

In the fight for the House, Democrats are facing an uphill climb to net the four seats needed to flip the chamber, while Republicans only need to win a handful more competitive races to hold onto the majority. With dozens of House races still uncalled and many looking close, Democrats would need to hang onto all of their competitive seats and flip a few Republican-held seats to get to the 218 seats needed for the majority.
With votes still being counted, here's a look at the key races that remain uncalled by the NBC News Decision Desk (read more about how those races are called). While some of the battleground states may be projected relatively quickly, it could take days or even weeks to resolve control of the House

(4,915 posts)three days after the election and you're claiming that people who are in despair are "ready to throw in the towel". Guess some of us are just not as strong and righteous as you.

(2,493 posts)We can't change those results the way they come in. If they win the house too.....fight for what? it's pretty much over from there.

(109,659 posts)From the beginning, a primary goal of the R's was to prevent Democrats from voting. Now they're trying to prevent the counting of all the votes.
So no, this wasn't over when the votes were cast.
The point is they haven't won the House yet, no matter what they're saying now. There are still hundreds of thousands of votes to be counted, and some to be fought over.
Last time, according to Greg Palast, there were 2.7 million provisional votes that were rejected. There will probably be at least as many this time, and lawyers will be fighting this out.

(109,659 posts)I understand the hopelessness and despair but we still have a chance to prevent TOTAL domination by Trump.
And if we give up now we're playing into his hands.

(27,914 posts)"Supporting democrats" means voting for them and not bashing them...
... it has never meant "those that have progressed well beyond the denial stage must post as though they are still in denial - until the rest of us get smacked in the face with reality"
The question is whether republicans will lose a seat or two or gain a seat or two... the House is no longer in play just because not every race has been called.
And if we give up now we're playing into his hands.
Accepting reality has no impact on races at all.

(95,812 posts)Everybodys got a choice, and a bunch of our cohort here have given up for good and are vowing to leave. If you are among them, good luck and Godspeed. If not, what will you be doing with the rest of your life?
So what do you think the rest of us should be doing? Now that weve had a few days to wail and gnash our teeth and rend our garments maybe its time to make a plan.

(4,915 posts)Have some empathy and enough with the obnoxious accusations that we're "giving up" or not going to fight.
