My father, sister and two brothers are trump supporters. I have not spoken to them since my father's funeral two years ago. I didn't speak to my dad after my mom's funeral in 2017. I tolerated him before my mom died. After her death he moved in with my Trumper sister. One evening during my mom's short illness, he told me how worthless I was and my children were losers. He stated I tried "shove my daughter lifestyle down his throat and I was a terrible mother for not raising my kids in the church" that is a direct quote. I wasn't informed of when or where my mom's funeral was. Joke was on them I was raised in the church and knew most funeral masses are held on Saturday and had no trouble finding the information I needed. The only reason I attended my father's funeral was for my middle child, he needed me to drive. When my son had finished his first cancer treatment in 2016, his grandfather had let us stay at his home for two weeks after his release from the hospital in Los Angeles. We both lived in other states and he had to go back to hospital in two weeks.
I have no need for those whose values are so different from mine. Being family isn't enough, especially since I know how they really feel about me and my daughter.

But I can't think of a single person in that group who would stoop to putting politics above family and friends. We don't roll that way.
Everyone is also always intelligent and civil enough to not make it a topic at gatherings. We're gather to enjoy one anothers company.

In fact, she's thinking of cancelling her hosting of the event because of that. Her son is gay, and she logically sees a vote for Trump as a vote to threaten her son.

Her mother-in-law is a definite Trump voter, and we also think it's likely my brother's wife voted for Trump. She's ungodly stupid when it comes to politics.

Those people are deadly toxic poison, and what they just did is unforgivable. It's permanent and irreversible damage. This is much more than just a difference of views - it's a toxic cult. Family ties must be severed and never mended. If you were to keep them in your life it only means more misery for you. Cut them out and you will be far happier.

The breakup of the family happened after our mother died, and there was a bitter dispute over the estate. That's the main reason why we don't communicate, but I choose not to anyway because a few of them are MAGA or MAGA-leaning and I wouldn't want to be around them anyway. It is far better to be separated completely than endure the pain of being around them.

I had a bible one of them gave me when my mother died - not an heirloom but a grocery store bible. I tossed it in the bin last week.

I don’t do that shit - “Gawd, MAGA”, and that whole mess.

The idiots are absolutely OBLIVIOUS to what they’ve done: ruined THEIR LIVES AND MINE.

Fuck ‘em.

But hey at least the “illegals” will get deported and stop taking our social security & Medicare (they don’t do that - but Trump, MAGA and Elon Musk will absolute take it - and now I can’t retire). And some women they don’t even know won’t be having an abortion somewhere that they don’t think she should get. And inflation will be caused by Trump, not Biden, so THAT’S great eh?
