I have never been more thankful for the "Ignore" feature

So much kooky, irrational, Q adjacent nonsense flooding the site in the past couple of days.

Going down conspiracy rabbit holes as a means of coping with the uncertainty ahead only diminishes our collective power as we seek to regroup to address the coming challenges.

who somehow don't subscribe to the "Democratic" part of Democratic Underground. They seem to think that caucusing with Democrats is the same thing as being a Democrat.

There are also high count posters who cross-post to multiple groups. I am not really a fan of that myself (I open DU sometimes and see the exact same post as the most recent post repeated four times on the landing pages), so post count isn't always a true reflection.

make us feel better in the immediate aftermath. It will take a long time to sort out, and I doubt very much that there was one single cause but a confluence of many things, including an inaccurate perception of the state of the economy; racism, misogyny; a whole lot of propaganda from both internal and external sources; uninformed voters; and people who could have voted but didn't. There will also be a whole lot of internal finger-pointing, which has already started. Trying to blame the whole mess on hacked voting systems without evidence makes us look as foolish as Trump's people in the aftermath of 2020, where those claims got shot down in 60+ lawsuits because there wasn't any supporting evidence. That's not to say there should be no examination of unusual patterns in unexpected places, but it's a pretty big chasm to leap in order to claim the debacle was the result of nationwide vote tampering. Rather than chasing our tails to find a unified theory that doesn't involve taking a hard look at what went wrong politically and which might make us Democrats feel bad for having misjudged the national Zeitgeist, let's let the dust settle and analyze patterns and strategies before pouncing on a conclusion which might be false and lead to more mistakes in the future.

Not when someone posts a crazy conspiracy theory, but when someone won't give up an argument. There are a small number of DUers who don't know when to let it go. They won't take a chill pill, and if they say the same thing twice, that's enough.

After that I put them on ignore where they belong.

really something.

That said, your reason for ignoring it it also a joke: there is no collective power going forward. There will be years, and maybe a generation, of subjection to MAGA power. That's it. That's probably why people have gone kooky sideways. It's a bleak prospect for the foreseeable future.

They aren't the same thing.

I would also argue that voter depression is more insidious than suppression. People somehow lost the motivation to vote and forget that it's a responsibility or they put on blinders like they did in Dearborn and decide that they'll "show us" by sitting it out.

It's easier to look to some crazy conspiracy than to admit that over half of our fellow citizens are fucking idiots.

She can't very well do that without the voters standing behind her, or she just looks like a twerp. We need to rise up and demand audits, and she'll be covered. Without her voters rising up, she'd just look like a sore loser. AND the republicans are COUNTING on that!!!!

So fucking what?
The question is what now. How do we most effectively resist these fascist knuckle draggers? What can we do individually, as well as collectively, to monkey wrench their worst intentions, because that’s what their coming with?
