since Monday night. Not even watching local news. I’ve not seen the felon’s face or heard that nauseating voice since Monday and my blood pressure is greatly reduced over the last few days to where it is back to normal. I was set to watch MSNBC on Tuesday night but I decided to stay away once I started hearing early returns on Sirius Progress radio (Obeidallah and Fugelsang) and I’ve not returned to watching. No Reverend Al or Velshi, no Maddow or Reid, no O’Donnell or Hayes or Wallace…I don’t miss them at all right now. I’m continuing to listen to a few of my favorite podcasts and Sirius Progress radio to commiserate with others who feel like I do during this troubling time. I’m done with MSM for now. Might never go back.

(6,010 posts)of all the hours wasted when I listened to all the legal experts who assured us this time he'd pay and the political pundits who were sure we would win this time, I am nauseated. So many words and thoughts. All wrong. Not wasting my time with the so-called experts on tv again. Done!

(986 posts)Such a colossal waste of time and energy.
Looking back at all their wrong predictions and false hope. Absolutely nothing to show for it.

What's the point anymore?

(3,066 posts)Which is a natural response when we are not involved in the conversation with the trumpers.
We are not going to save them.
We must teach a new generation and that will be hard.
I read nearly 80% of vouchers went to home schoolers to send their kids to schools of their choosing. How many are religious?
The billionaires are intruding.

(1,452 posts)I didn't watch election night but Joy, Lawrence and Ali have been good saying to not give up, that it takes long struggle to achieve our goals.. Chris Hayes had the good reminder that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I haven't had any corporate media on. 2000 cured me of corporate media.

(21,722 posts)and his voice make me sick. All these arm chair experts and their opinions are worthless about now. Time to put some discs in and listen to some music I’ve been missing n catch up on the book I’ve put off reading.

(8,517 posts)part. It definitely helped me have less stress and anxiety. I have watched more since the election and what happened and it’s just the same old crap as usual trying to normalize a psycho fascist, etc. these people will never learn.
The day of the election I just looked at the New York Times map feed because it was free. My brother was in the other room watching and he would come in and give me updates- at one point he came in and said it’s not looking good in the 3 key swing states . At which point I went for a walk I think…by the time I came back, maybe half an hour later it was obvious she was going to lose which he had been telling me for two or three days already.
By midnight, I knew pretty much what was going to happen and I rearranged everything that I had to do for the next day to give myself time to recover.
I quit watching several years ago.

(52,832 posts)I like VCRs a lot more since you can record a show onto a tape and save ot or share it. I need my DVR upgraded but I won't do it since it has a lot of movies on it that I want to see whenever I want. I am not good with tech stuff bit the cable guy said that I could save it to something something...blah...blah...blah. i have no idea what he is talking about and do not have anyone to ask for help since I live alone and everything I do is through trial and error. It takes a ton of time and is terribly frustrating and usually it still won't work.

(820 posts)has been reduced by 98%, or more. That includes local and Sirius XM. I am still in recovery mode, and I doubt I will be going back anytime soon. It's actually good not hearing or seeing TSF, And it's better on my mental well being. His next 4 years will be another disaster. And the bottom line is, "it is what it is". There's nothing more I can do to help this situation.
In retrospect, I am extremely disappointed with the population in the US. For this country to allow this lunatic back in power, sure says a lot about them. It shouldn't be long now for everyone to start regretting their vote. I give it 6 months.
Let the shit show begin.

Watching less cable I fret less and overall freed up time. That’s not to say I wasn’t just shocked like everyone else when we lost.

(6,994 posts)Nixon/Ford I had such a gut full of the crap that I had to back away for a good long length of years. Basically from about 1974 or so on to the Reagan first term I just couldn't bring myself to watch the news hardly at all. The way Nixon was allowed to escape justice and why just made it impossible for me to go on taking it all in every day.

Unfollowing any social media accounts that share clips of Trump. My #1 self care rule is to avoid the sound of his voice.
If anything important happens I'll find out about it through the Associated Press breaking news emails.
