I am amazed at all the people already giving in to dump.

From Countries to Business leaders to people wanting to leave the country. He hasn't even taken office yet and people are giving up. I just don't understand that.

So much time was spent on doomsday predictions that there will never be another election, democracy is dead, Trump will be king for life, and so on that some have just assumed it to be the only possible future. So, why bother?

Will he be bad for the country and impact it for decades? That is without question, but that doesn't mean that Democrats should not try to blunt the worst of it and prepare for the future.

Politics is historically cyclical, and there will be a backlash to Trumpism at some point. It might take a while, but we need to be prepared to take advantage of it, whether it's the midterms in 2026 or the GE in 2028.

It's not. It's going to be either bad or really bad. And I'm not saying people shouldn't run, that's up to them. I'm just saying I'm not.

It's going to be bad, very bad, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to do something about it.

If nothing else, we still have an obligation to *try* to blunt the worst of it, particularly for those who will be most affected -- the same people who are always impacted the most: the lower/middle classes, minorities, and other marginalized/oppressed groups.

I am over 50 so I certainly was. I know all of that. I posted on here about all of that. You can check my profile to see that I have been on here way before that. Did you have another question or comment besides questioning my bona fides?
