JoJofromJerz gets it.

"So, you want me to believe that you voted for a racist, rapist, convicted felon, business fraud who incited a deadly attack on our Capitol after losing the last election because of the price of eggs?
That you voted for the orange-dipped dude who ran with a different VP because the last one was nearly hanged for not breaking democracy, because you’ve been getting fewer hours at your job these days?
You want me to believe that you voted for someone who nearly every economist in the world has said will grow our debt (which he did by the third largest amount ever the last time), increase our costs, raise inflation and destroy our GDP because a burger and fries at Five Guys is more expensive than it used to be?
You want me to believe that you voted for the drink bleach guy who golfed while thousands of Americans were dying a day because you had it so much better then, when you were stockpiling toilet paper, than you do now?
You want me to believe that you voted for the guy who had 4 years to pass an infrastructure bill and didn’t, the guy who promised Mexico would pay for the wall when they didn’t, the guy who promised to bring manufacturing back, lower the cost of prescription drugs and end the opioid crisis but didn’t, because you preferred his “policies”?
You want me to believe you voted for the “grab em by the pussy” guy who wants to destroy the Department of Education and to repeal the ACA despite the fact that he has nothing more than “concepts of a plan” to replace it, the guy who will roll back environmental protections, strip women and minorities of more rights, the guy who will hand Ukraine to Putin and Gaza to Netanyahu, the guy who has said he will be a “dictator on day one”, because you’re worried about losing your gas stove?
I’m sorry, but I don’t believe any of that, and frankly, I’m not sure you believe it either.
Because the truth is that your vote wasn’t about any of that.
You voted for the traitorous embodiment of the 7 deadly sins because when it came to casting your ballot for a Black woman, you just couldn’t do it.
And because you like getting away with being your worst self.
And because life is a whole lot easier to stomach when all that has gone wrong for you, is someone else’s fault."

Let’s be honest here, that is what it was.

So when the price of eggs is $18, and your Latino neighbors have been deported or moved to some f’d up “camp” to pick the strawberries none of you will pick, and your miscarrying wife has to contend with sepsis before she’s allowed to have an abortion, and your autistic child is unable to get the early intervention they desperately need, please remember what it really was that you voted for.

Because I promise you the rest of us will never, ever forget."

And due to the ineffectiveness of what used to be the main stream media, and will now become state run media via faux, newmax and onan network, they will never know the true source of their misfortune. Every time one “problem” group is eliminated they will fill the empty heads with a new boogeyman that will need to be eliminated in order for all of the white christians to become billionaires too…

They don't vote for conservatism, they vote against the "liberal menace". In their minds, they voted against Marxism and the "woke mind virus". At the end of the day, they don't care about Trump's obvious flaws, they voted for him to save the world from leftism.

The further people stray from reality, the worse it's going to get.

Since I got this when attempting to start a new discussion "You don't have enough posts to start new threads. Please reply to some threads first." I'll leave this here:

There’s a Lot of Fighting Over Why Harris Lost. But Everyone Seems to Want to Avoid This Explanation.
It wasn’t the fascism-loving felon whom voters couldn’t trust. It was the Black woman.

It’s not just that she was running against an unhinged demagogue who infamously already presided over this nation during a uniquely chaotic time in American history that ended with a devastating pandemic—which he completely mishandled, becoming one of the world’s leading sources of dangerous health-related misinformation. I could go on, but it wouldn’t matter. It didn’t matter. When faced with the options of chaos, greed, and anger or relative common sense—the kind wielded by a competent, qualified Black woman—voters overwhelmingly chose the former. It wasn’t the fascism-loving guy who spurred an insurrection whom they couldn’t trust. It was the Black woman.

I question all the votes he got. It was very likely rigged but it shouldn't have been so close.

I mean if you let a practiced and expert Russian KGB agent run rampent in your social media without restrictions,

If you support "news" when they report politics like a football game,

If you let political parties own media monopolies,

If you step back when anyone and everyone bribes politicians and judges,

If you bail out the filthy-rich while giving everyone else austerity

And if you hollowing out most all your manufacturing jobs by sending them off to foreign countries creating a nation of sales clerks and waiters......

What do you expect to happen?

This is the end stages of capitalism that no one talks about.

Life is very hard for a lot of people right now, and it only got harder during the Biden administration. Things got more expensive, people can't afford a place to live in most metro areas, health care is worse and costs more, wages have not kept up, etc. IT'S NOT SOEMTHING TRIVIAL. It's vital. It's frankly way more important to many people than anything else.

I get it, Harris had a lot of good ideas to help. Many of those things aren't the Biden administration's fault.

But many people remember they had it better under Trump when the Obama economy was delivering for them.

It's not fair, but there it is.

We need to actually articulate real policy in easy-to-understand terms. I get it. Talking about how all the problems facing the country today result from rich people not being asked to pay their fair share and allowing them to buy votes isn't going to be easy for candidates getting funded by those same people, but we need to articulate that simply and concisely, or we're going to keep suffering defeats like this.

Ideally, we need someone who refuses to accept money from big donors.

Bernie is too old now, but a charismatic younger politician like that could have gone a long way. Harder to do now as it would come across as a copy cat. Bernie had the right idea - economic populism, but without the racism and misogyny.

Trump was riding the Obama economy, until Trump crashed it.

Biden was cleaning up and dealing with the ongoing fallout from the Trump economy and Trump pandemic, and soft-landed it masterfully so that it bounced back faster and higher than many other nations' economies.

I agree with every damn thing you said. What makes it particularly sickening to me is that after 75 years on this planet, and being a lifelong student of our constitutional history, I am convinced that our grealt experiment in self-governance is over and, as it's been said, it went with a whimper. The one hope I have is that someone proves me REALLY wrong.

But that's the base. As for the low-information swing vote, that's just the flood of right wing propaganda. They spent more in Pennsylvania alone than used to be spent on entire nationwide campaigns.
