That doesn't mean you roll over for every ridiculous policy or stop your activism or turn to quietism. There's work to be done. But the American people have chosen this direction, and they have done so pretty clearly. It's not a hallucination or a mistake. So being a small "d" democrat means that you have to acknowledge that and - yes, partially, conditionally, with your principles intacty, accept it.

Their data is much larger and more reliable than what we’re seeing now, and should provide a clearer, more detailed understanding of this election.

P.S. I think you left a second “it” out of your headline - did you mean to say “It is what it is”?
