The Dean's Report: Asking whether convicted felon Trump cheated in this election does NOT make you an "election denier"

The Dean's Report - Asking whether convicted felon Trump cheated in this election does NOT make you an "election denier"

Don't let GOPers and Never Trumpers silence you!

After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he unleashed a non-stop barrage of fabricated BS to undermine the results. Trump’s lies of a “rigged election” ranged from claiming he had gathered “overwhelming evidence about a fake election” to “thousands of dead people” voted in key states to voting software had “switched thousands of votes” to Joe Biden and the list goes on and on.

That is what election denying looks like. It’s knowingly peddling lies to mislead people about an election that Trump’s own top officials, recounts and the courts had confirmed was accurate.

In contrast, asking questions in good faith in the days after the election is not election denying. It’s called critical thinking. It’s what intelligent, patriotic Americans do. Indeed, the facts surrounding the 2024 election and who Trump is himself demand questions be asked.

For starters, Trump cheated and attempted to cheat in both the 2016 and 2020 election. He was convicted by a jury of 34 felonies for cheating in the 2016 election. As Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg repeatedly made clear, Trump was not being prosecuted for paying “hush money” to cover up an affair. Rather, as Bragg stated before the trial, Trump was charged for “conspiring to corrupt a presidential election and then lying in New York business records to cover it up.”

After the 2020 election, Trump attempted to cheat again. This time he tried to remain in power despite losing by first peddling a tsunami of lies about the election results and then taking actions to overturn the 2020 election—which culminated with his Jan 6 terrorist attack on our Capitol. That is why Trump is charged with felonies in both federal court and Fulton County, Georgia.

Statements to the effect that "I think .." or "I know .." - this, this, and this - are something different.

And, yes - if you are making claims, or allegation, that the current election was 'stolen' or cheated ...
You are in fact an 'election denier'.

Talk about what you can verify actually happened. Then we're all on safe ground. But speculation and innuendo gain us nothing. And oftentimes just make us look, and sound, like wingnuts.

tsf got about the same # of votes as last time, but harris got fewer than biden.
she lost states where dems did well downticket, inc nc, where we pretty much swept.
she raised $1 in small donations and ppl didnt turn out?
we know there was serious suppression, too. harder to put numbers on, but even if it doesnt change the result, it matters.
i havent had a chance to dig into numbers, but even w/o the fact that we had a great ground game and they had zip, it still bears investigation.

and anyone who thinks he wouldnt cheat if he could needs their head examined.

I mean the Trump organization wasn't trying to get an extra 20% in the Bronx or Queens so the fact that he did indicates this was more of a nationwide trend then something targeted.

We also know from exit polls that hemuch better in minority and working class areas pretty much across the board while losing wealthy whites with college educations

no problem.
But, waiting for real evidence before jumping to conclusion (and a destructive bandwagon). And I'm talking about something much more conclusive and concrete than, "Doesn't make sense" or "doesn't smell right".

If you can back it up - fine. If you can't - just blowin' smoke ...

As example - "wouldn't cheat if he could .." is another one of those "woulda' / coulda' / mighta' " semi-allegations - that doesn't get us anywhere closer to - what really took place. What really happened?

If having your base pissed off for four years about a stolen election (that wasn't) leads to victory, sign me up

for Harris.

WHY they didn't, or wouldn't is one question.
QUESTIONING the reality of whether in fact they did, or did not .... Is really quite a different thing.
