It is doubtful that Trump would keep him and he would prefer to resign than be fired. Also, Trump does not want anyone in a position to hold him accountable who is not a "yes" man. We can learn a lot by whom he chooses to replace him with.

Trump chose him in 2017 and it is a 10-year term, so I'd imagine he will make Trump fire him.

Yep. Making Chump fire him probably is more likely to be damaging to Agolf as well.

He said many, including himself, are already looking for new jobs. He was hoping to stay in a government agency but be less visible and ride out the next 4 yrs.
