"The road to facicism is lined with people telling you to stop overreacting "

Historians have been sounding the warning bells since 2016. Can't count the times I have been personally told oh this or that is never going to happen. Then it does and they say, I'm sorry, you were right. Thats not helpful and of cold comfort.

History tells us what did happen, what can, and probably will happen again. It's not media hype or irrational fears. It's a possibility that it's better to be prepared for than not.

he's a bargaining chip. Trump is in a little different position this time. He has something Putin wants.

Trump has been humiliated by Putin. That has to sting the old ego. Trump might, just MIGHT, realize he isn't going to live long enough to build a hotel in Moscow. He'll have different terms this time around.

Does Putin have kompromat on Trump? Does Trump care?

The bargaining positions may have moved if only slightly.

Question is....what does Trump want from Putin?

When Chris Steele was asked during his book tour on a podcast, "is there a pee tape?" and he didn't answer directly. Steele went off course and said all hotels are bugged and filmed yada yada.

Observation... Rusky Cable TV showed the naked Melina pics two days after Trump won and Putin still did not call him to congratulate him until Friday I believe! Is the message, I OWN YOU! ? Supposedly they talked and Trump told him not to get aggressive with Ukraine but the drone wars intensified.

Biden had to twist their arms to get them to pony up.

Germany and France were in bed with Putin and his oil deals.

I think they learned the lesson of appeasement in the last century. I also think (hope) that Biden unified them enough for the unity to hold. Maybe they feel even more fearful with the US going fascist.

because they were so intertwined with Putin's oil and money deals.
Which of course Putin did on purpose thinking they would not turn against him
when he invaded Ukraine.

So then Biden had to convince Germany and France to take some action.
And then of course someone blew up the NORD oil pipeline from Russia to Germany
and the cosy Russian German oil deal went bye bye.

And I think you are right that Europe, at least Poland, may be be worried about
further Russian aggression. And yes they can no longer rely on the US to protect them.

They should be scared. And should start building their own military now.

That’s when the Republican Party added an anti-choice plank to its platform. People would say, “Oh, no, they would never overturn Roe v. Wade.”

Well, oopsie.….I always knew they would.

We can't ignore that fact. Just sayin.'

We can silo ourselves into solace and rightness, and stay ignorant about what our opposition thinks of us and our leaders, but by continuing to do so we'll just keep getting the messaging wrong.

Know your political electorate. And know your enemy -- the messaging of the Heritage-Federalist-cryptotechbro triumvirate. Who Trump, being their tool, parrots.

PLEASE don't let DU become another silo'd echo chamber of stuff that had no impact on our opponents.
