everyone here on December 31, 2024 is hereby declared a citizen of the United States. Presidential decree. I'm sure we can delay the courts as well as anyone.
Whomever is here can't be any worse than whoever is here.

(13,618 posts)It's up to him to do all he can, that we tried to do, entirely for the sake of democracy, decency, the Constitution, all Americans and the world at large.
He can also take some very irreversible actions, which could box someone in, and about which I will not speculate.
Republicans have repeatedly scuttled deals to make Democratic candidates look bad.
Rubicon in the way?

(20,653 posts)cannot be prosecuted for any "official act" during his presidency, so I think Joe should go for it. He should be able to make executive orders on all sorts of things.

(4,490 posts)But without the designated powers needed, they won't be legal. No law or constitutional power gives the executive branch the authority to declare people citizens.
