https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-tells-gop-bypass-senate-203827077.htmlAny Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner We need positions filled IMMEDIATELY! Trump posted on X, signaling his intent to once again govern via social media. Additionally, no Judges should be approved during this period of time because the Democrats are looking to ram through their Judges as the Republicans fight over Leadership. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THANK YOU!
Republicans are going to have a 53-47 majority in the Senate, and yet heres Trump urging the Senate to go into recess so that he can bypass it altogether, Georgetown University Law Professor Steve Vladeck posted on X, reacting to Trumps declaration. In other words, he wants to install folks who couldnt even get through that Senate.
Elon Musk, the billionaire who turned X into a bastion for misinformation and who was a key figure in Trumps campaign, also showed support of this move. This is essential, he wrote. There is no other way. Trump has said Musk will serve in a new administration role: Secretary of Cost-Cutting.

(9,462 posts)they give in to him, but then again, that's the plan. Concentrate power in the President and make everything else irrelevant. We'll see who, if any, Republican stands up to him. They might get a horsehead in their bed if they do.

(909 posts)and a rubber stamp like Putin did in Russia.
A number of red state governors have already successfully replicated or are in the process of replicating the Putin model on a smaller level. This was always the plan.

(1,395 posts)Musk must be getting tired of having to cherry pick judicial districts to bring his lawsuits..

Musk loves lawsuits almost as much as Trump. Must be one of the traits that bond these grifters.

(58 posts)That's among the goofiest, most Republican shit ever. Almost "Space Force"-level cartoony.
Get that Greek/Argentinean-style austerity shit outta here. Considering what's happened elsewhere, this unqualified billionaire cretin is going to increase the poverty rate by 50% in record time. Elon keeps fantasizing about forcing Americans to "live within their means", however these fascists choose to define that. Just wait until the idiots who voted for them find out in real time what it REALLY means to live in an austerity state.
Also, it cracks me up how Republicans keep creating increasingly ludicrous new government positions and agencies whenever they're in power, despite always selling themselves as the party of "small government."
