The time a president deported 1 million Mexican Americans for supposedly stealing U.S. jobs

On Feb. 26, 1931, a sunny Sunday in Los Angeles, hundreds gathered for an afternoon of relaxation in La Placita park in the heart of the city’s Mexican community.

Suddenly, a large group of plainclothes officers armed with guns and batons entered the park. Two officers were posted at each entrance to La Placita so that no one could leave. Dozens of flatbed trucks circled the park’s perimeter.

Officers rounded up all the people with brown skin, said Joseph Dunn, a former Democratic state senator from California, who researched this forgotten episode of U.S. history.

Panic swept through the crowd. About 400 park patrons were lined up and asked to show proof of legal entry and citizenship of the United States.

The Mexican immigrants and Mexican Americans who could not produce proper documentation were detained. Then, some were put on the trucks and sent to the city’s main railroad station, Dunn said. Once there, they were ordered onto previously chartered trains and taken deep into Mexico, according to Dunn.

Why not go to the construction job site or the meat packing processing plant or for that matter any large American corporation currently employing them?

Y'all round them up on their day off with friends and family. Why not show the visual of who these people come here to work for?....the dirty little secret of the reality of the situation.

never pay a price. You see, America doesn't punish the well off. We now know laws are for us, not them.

The game is just a game played on the easily manipulated. Again and again and again on and on.

but in their defense they blamed the immigrants.

2025, the Republican party will deport millions of immigrants, and will cause again the Great Depression 2, because of their policies.

Rinse and repeat.

To crash the economy, kill the USD and replace the global currency with crpyto which is only available to the wealthy and, therefore, rendering the 99% to serfdom. Easy peasy.

which imported Mexican farm laborers in what amounted to slave labor. I grew up in a town in California that was home to many of those "braceros." They picked the citrus crops and worked in the orchards. They lived in camps with company stores that kept them in constant debt. They got none of the benefits they were promised.

Watch for something like that to be restarted to replace the deported workers. It was a very, very bad idea.

For a pretty good summary of the program:
