And that's coming from a news junkie.
It's like reliving his first term, except this time I know what's coming.
And that it will be even worse.

Sorry, but that's where I am. I don't need to hear lots of excuses and blame as to what we did wrong. The majority of voters in this country are Pieces Of Shit, and 2 years or 4 years won't change that.
Look how much support and excitement Kamala's campaign brought. I have no desire to go through that again, only to be led to believe victory is within grasp, and be disappointed and hating this country more than I already do.

I have been off cable news too. The other thing why watch corporate media, all they would do is "normalize" the felon's incompetent hateful villain's. And the media would just fall in line with misinformation and disinformation. I am really curious what their viewership ratings are now and in the future.
I want to be open to view these 3 people on MSNBC. Rev Al Sharpton, Joy and Lawrence.
And I podcast Dr Mary Trump and Randi Rhodes. Mary Trump and the Nerd Avengers are on You Tube on Mary Trump Media.
I feel as though if we keep away from cable (I stay away from Corporate Media) that we will only be eliminating should I say liberal or progressive views and we will be left with propagandized junk news such as FOX.
We need to eliminate FOX, and all right-wing stations, but it may be too late. And we will end up having state run news.
If I'm off on this please give suggestions.

We pay for a few ads to try to counteract the 24hr cycle that show his words repeated over and over without doing their job to call out the lies every time they were told. The lies were mostly unchallenged, the lack of plans unquestioned and the bazaar behaviors in the last few weeks ignored- by the media. We are missing the mark on media and messaging monopolies. I'm planning on cancelling: Amazon Prime
All my Amazon subscriptions, including grocery delivery.
I will shift my dollars to a locally owned natural food store and do curbside pickup. No more shopping from Whole Foods. When my budget has constraints, I will have to buy from the local big chain grocers. 😕
I have ordered two books from a locally owned bookstore. It hurts to pay shipping, but I refuse to pay anymore money to Traitor Bezos.
I have a lot of books on Kindle, and a lot of music on Amazon Music. I will need to make lists of what to replace with books and CDS, so this will take awhile.
I also plan to dump Phuckbook, so I will have to let friends and family know.
I have a new account at Blue Sky social. I was never on $hitter, but Blue Sky seems to be very friendly and easy to use. They also have a nuclear block button, which does a fantastic job of taking out the trash.
The most difficult thing for me is that I can't seem to escape the panicky feeling that I should move to Canada, ASAP. But I know it can't happen that fast, I don't know if every bit of cash I could raise would be enough to live on for the rest of my life, and they have a jerk wad who is trying to oust their current government and get him and his grifting cronies in .
I can't bear to see or hear Piss Wig, so I have had to stop watching, even some great podcasts and the few news sources that were worth watching.
I think we need to do everything we can to hurt the enemy invaders. Don't watch their programs, don't click on their links and don't spend any money with companies that supported the traitor and company, and are now welcoming them and signalling that they will lick their boots.

I watch select shows on MSNBC and will continue to do so. I've been watching less since the election, but I imagine that will change as time goes on. There are certain MSNBC news hosts who I know I can count on to have interesting guests who help make sense of what's going on, and I will continue to need that.
The problem for me right now is all the focus on dissecting the election and trying to figure out why things turned out the way they did. I understand why people want and need to do that, but I. Just. Can't. Not right now.
I don't know if I'm more or less devastated now than I was on 2016, but one thing is clear: I'm devastated in a different way. The outcome of this election still doesn't feel quite real to me, whereas 2016 felt very real, and I was completely gutted.
In 2020, I was a nervous wreck, not sure what was going to happen and scared to death of what a second TSF term could mean. I sought refuge at DU, where I already had a membership that I'd barely used, to help me hang on to my sanity.
I desperately wanted Joe to win, but I was never convinced he was going to pull it off, and when he did, I was over the moon. TSF seemed like a bad dream that was over at last. Electing Joe felt like a sign that America had come to its senses.
This time, I really thought Kamala was going to win. Listening to her speak made me feel like I did back on 2007, when Obama was running for the first time. I was prepared for a close election, but I never thought so many people would vote to go back to the hellhole America escaped from in 2020.
But here we are, and I still haven't been able, almost a week later, to wrap my head around it. It's hard to have any faith in anything right now. America had a choice between a bright, shiny future with a president who was going to work hard to make all of our lives better, and a psychopathic despot who is going to make millions of lives much worse if he does even half the things he's promised to do. And look at what a majority of voters chose.
Making a stupid choice once is lot easier to understand than making the same stupid choice twice. I don't think this is ever going to make any sense to me.

(3,294 posts)But we are looking for extended conversations like Jon Stewart's The Weekly Show podcast on YouTube. His interview with Heather Cox Richardson was terrific. She's so clear-eyed about what we face, but also able to put it in the context of earlier times in American history that we survived.
We are sick to death of talking heads.

(9,409 posts)I use the info to put on my Facebook page. That way I know exactly what they are up to and inform as many people as I can about the fucked up things they are pulling. It is like watching a horror show - the things Trump is putting into place. I am full of piss and anger. Its scary but fascinating. I enjoy seeing the orange one being beat up on.

My teevee is tuned to a Showtime channel thats like family flicks or something. Its probably gonna stay there for a while.
Im having an apathy break for as long as I need so when its necessary I will have the strength to resist! 💪
