I know that there's a contingent here on DU that believe the election was stolen. I suppose it could be a defense mechanism to get thru this. It also could be true that there's this vast, nefarious plot that robbed us of MILLIONS of votes. To me, it doesn't matter.
I'm convinced it's over. He's President and unless you're wealthy, you're screwed.
Nothing is making me feel better.

(17,378 posts)The only argument I could make that it's better that the election was stolen is it would mean that there are fewer voters who would vote for a human being this corrupt and disgusting. It would also be less embarrassing for our country, because we would have an excuse for doing what we just did. Europe, Canada, all our allies ae dismayed.
Now, I don't believe the election was stolen but my mind is open. A caller to Thom Hartmann's program discussed a thread on one of the new social platforms written by someone who used to work in security (maybe DHS) who found a major discrepancy between people who checked in to vote and the tabulation of actual votes. When the ballots were rescanned, the missing votes appeared and the election results changed. It was a confusing phone call and I don't have any more details.
Hopefully Thom and some other people who heard that call can look at the thread.
This is really, really hard. My heart goes out to everyone struggling with what happened. I'm going to make some kind of plan to figure out how to get through the next 4 (or more) years.

(121,502 posts)I still see no way to undo it. If it wasn't stolen, that means more people voted for Trump than for Harris which sucks just as much. Why that happened will be analyzed and fought over forever, but it still doesn't change the fact that he and his Nazi-adjacent minions will control the federal government for some yet-unknown duration and we're stuck with it. No matter how it happened we're stuck with it. Discovering why we're stuck with it may be useful in trying to prevent recurrences, but for now we have to deal with life under a great big pile of shit. There is no possible analysis or explanation that makes me feel better about living under a great big pile of shit.
