Harry littman who for years was singing the praises of the rule of law, integrity of the justice department and courts and how Garland was to be trusted to prosecute those who broke said law has now operated a 180.
On MSNBC he was asked a few questions such as
Will there be recourses if Trump abuse the rule of law ? Answers no.
Will Trump be constrained by ethics law ? Answers no, he will ignore it all with no consequences.
And so on.
If him and others had spend more time sounding the alarm instead of whitewashing it all and proclaiming that the law will hold, we have guardrails, etc.. maybe we would not be in this situation

(8,053 posts)He certainly did not want Trump to be elected but he was constantly cheerleading for the justice department, rule of law and so on oblivious to the fact that none of that mattered or was actually true.

People here don't behave like normal civilized human beings. How can sane voters in a developed nation look at someone like him and think that's presidential?

(8,053 posts)I therefore view him as a pundit. He specializes in things related to legal matters.

(20,988 posts)of what he said is that TSF won't follow any of the institutional norms, so law and order is fk'ed in the upcoming trump administration.
It's scary shit when the experts are saying our institutions will not likely stand up under trump round II.

(24,825 posts)I think it was Dana Bash interviewing Gym Jordan. Gee, wouldn't it have been nice to really dig into this stuff, ask some implementation questions BEFORE the goddam election? Maybe give it as much coverage as, say, the McDonald's stunt?

There are no "guardrails" anymore, and I'm pretty sure the MAGA-cult already knows it.
