You do have the RIGHT to remain silent. Use it . You don't even have to be rude about it, Just tell them your lawyer advised you to have him present for any questions.
I was married to a deputy for a short time. She gave me a T-shirt that said "You have the right to remain silent and anything you say will be misquoted and used against you".
Back in 1968 when I was a freshman in college, I had a teacher that had been a NY detective and he said the same thing. Just ask them questions. Why am I being stopped. Am I being detained. Am I free to go. Do I have the right to have a lawyer present for any questions.
