(3,382 posts)Look at Florida in 2000. And look at the votes Nader got.
The Green Party has been throwing the country under the bus for a long time now.

(5,988 posts)Voted for nothing, and how to give them something they were seeking, inside the parameters we can offer.
The nihilistic attitude of some will have the blood on their hands, along with everyone that voted for trump, as the policies begin to break our Democracy.

(51,718 posts)They'll always have an issue that makes them feel superior given they fail to realize that Presidents are not kings. ... Or, they weren't until Jan of 2025.

(4,557 posts)Are largely protest votes. If they were not on the ballot people would mostly skip the race or write in and the rest would be split between the mainstream candidates.

(44,805 posts)The current totals being reported in wisconsin give Trump a lead of 29,687 over Harris. Stein and RFK Jr together have 29,940 votes -- so if you assume that every voter that cast a ballot for Stein and RFK Jr would have voted for Harris it means Harris would have a 253 vote lead. But that's a pretty big assumption. A far more realistic view is that a bunch of them don't vote, or some vote for Trump, or write in someone else, or vote for the Libertarian candidate or another third party candidate and Harris still falls short.

(1,436 posts)There were two right leaning candidates in the Wisconsin Senate race that took more 72,000 votes. Both ran farther to the right than the Republican.
We should be thanking the 3rd parties for the Senate seat.

Nader got something like 60k votes in Florida? Yeah those going to Gore would have made it a no question.
