Quisling served as the puppet leader of his country under Nazi rule. In Europe his name is synonymous with "traitor" as Benedict Arnold is here.

…I recommend folks look into the history of the ‘polite’ Scandinavian resistance to Nazism (which was a fascinating local blend of effective Nordic disdain for Nazi race obsession, coordinated nonviolent civil disobedience and more active forms of resistance).
