This is the way he takes control - by fear.
He doesn't really have to take any actions. He just has to make them think he will.
Journalists will be more cautious about what they say and print.
Generals will be obedient to the Commander in Chief.
Political opponents will be fearful that he will throw them in jail.
His enemies will become silent.
Is that the plan?

They walk on eggshells to avoid the wrath of the abuser.

They may appear "moderate" but they will never criticize their Leader. They are quislings.

To make Trump as wealthy and powerful as possible.
And yes they will keep their mouths shut about the crimes, wrong doing, and scandals
they witness first hand.
