We are going to fuck their shit up badly

Last edited Tue Nov 12, 2024, 07:56 PM - Edit history (1)

Think MAGAts know something about opposition? They have not a single clue how badly we will fuck their shit up starting on Thanksgiving. They will be isolated, derided, maligned, told that they aren't welcome in our houses or around our children. The bros better go join a monastery because their chances of meeting a woman are going to drop to near zero; for the women, especially those with family, they will be shunned and shown the door by their immediate and extended family.

And we will fuck them up economically. No major purchases, just essentials, no contracting, nothing. Let the fucking economy collapse and let Motherfucker own it all.

The power of shunning and the purse is about to get very real for these motherfuckers.

The one in Wisconsin voted for Trump, if she voted at all, because her evangelical church will have told her to. She also listens to crap news pretty much exclusively. She did give up telling us we were going to hell a long time ago, to keep the peace, but we've exhausted the subjects we could discuss civilly anyway - seriously, how many times can you remember your childhood? And I've always organized my holiday trips to red Wisconsin by making sure I didn't give that state a single dime, so that'll be easier. I can just stay in the Peoples Republic of Minnesota and spend my money there.

What could I tell her? It's ok? It's not ok. She voted away our country for God and cheap groceries, neither of which is even going to materialize. When things get a lot worse and she wants to vent to me, how can I have any sympathy? Don't come to me, ask your church for a friggin' miracle. Ask your college for a refund on your diploma, because education doesn't seem to have been the end result. You got conned. You managed to convince yourself that a man who would steal from kids with cancer gives a rat's ass about God, the country and your problems. Guess what's going to happen.

Some women will probably fall for it even after this election. What can you do? My cousin with multiple advanced degrees is dating a Rogan/Trump fanboy and totally buying that stuff. She’s into the anti-vax nonsense too. Pretty sure she never read any feminist history or literature when she was getting those degrees. without the choice to do otherwise. But what little dent I can make, I will do it. Yeah, it may not mean anything to some freaking billionaire, but even those of us oldsters who have very precious little in resources do have a mindset that will make us feel like we're doing something. And sometimes, that helps to get one over the hump for another day.

We've already decided no purchases on credit or from any savings... no big purchases of any kind, not even electronics. We could use help around the house ON the house, like roof repair on the back part of the house. That will be done via app, and preferably by one of the Mexican-Americans that put up our fence a few years ago (the majority of whom didn't speak English).

I don't have much money... but I do have spirit, and I can bring spite. And where I can, I'll sow some happiness. Where trump voters are concerned, they obviously don't need anything from me, and that's what they'll get.

I'm looking for ideas for how we can demonstrate which will actually be effective and not just put us in jail. How to protect our leaders to speak up. will be horrendous. Losing millions of people that are doing jobs that most people will not do. We will all pay for that one big time. How's about 5 dollars per orange. It will be a delicacy. Then tariffs will destroy the economy. Inflation will eat everyone alive. Trump will destroy the military, select only loyalists, and destroy our democracy. He will replace everyone on the DOJ with people who will also be loyalists. The department of education will be no more. The dumbing of America is about to start. We can't possibly have smart people, right? What will happen to colleges? And the small amount of smart ones will be the ones that Trump pick. A dictatorship is about to form. Get ready for it.

I know it sounds like doom and gloom, and you can thank all these cult morons. We will all pay for this, big time. By the time they realize it, it will probably be too late.

I certainly hope none of this is true, but I can't help but think all of the shit he spewed before the election is about to come true. He's already starting.

consists of a 2nd marriage. My current wife is a democrat. I could never be married to a republicant. NEVER!!!. I have a relationship with her family (all democrats) and her ex's family (all republicants). My ex and my children are all democrats. We live in an all red state. My ex is now on anxiety drugs. My current wife is really having a difficult time dealing with this whole situation. So am I, but I'm not on drugs. As for my republicant relationships, I could care less about them. They are true Trumpers. They think he is a God, can never be wrong about anything, and they hate democrats. We NEVER talk politics to keep the peace.

Me and my wife are retired. We live on limited income and have to watch our pennies. I am very frugal about where we spend our money. For the next 4 years, I will most likely not purchase any big ticket items. We have fairly new appliances, and well kept vehicles. I try not to purchase from stores of owners that are republican. I will continue to do that. And I will never buy a Tesla. Nor am I a member of X. If there was any other way I can stick it to republicans, I will. As for family outings, most of them are on her side of the family. I see my children all the time. I will be more conscious over the next 4 years to refrain for associating with the republicants of my wife's ex. My wife will probably continue to see them, to keep the peace. I never really cared for them anyway.

The Magats have truly split this country in 2, with their hatred, stupidity, and ignorance. I have no place in my heart for people like this. Before the next 4 years is up, I see a majority of them regretting what they have done to this country. I don't know if I can ever forgive them for what they did.

In the case of oath-breaking insurrectionist Trump, there are two votes required for him to again become President: the popular vote, and the Congressional vote.

Per the 14th Amendment, Congress must act to uphold the Constitution by voting to allow Trump to assume office. Trump cannot be President until they vote by 2/3 majority to allow him to overcome his disqualifying disability.

The 14th Amendment works with the 20th Amendment to automatically disqualify an oath-breaking insurrectionist from assuming the office of the President, unless 2/3 of each house of Congress votes to allow it. In the meantime, Vance will become the Acting President, until the Jan 6. trial is concluded. See the relevant parts:

14th Amendment, Section 3.
No person shall ... hold any office, civil or military, under the United States ... who, having previously taken an oath ... as an officer of the United States ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

20th Amendment, Section 3.
... or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify (before the time fixed for the beginning of his term), then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified.

Will be the same as its always been. Oh, my republican family members might say something, but as happens every year, the talk will quickly pivot to something else. I would never abandon my family over a politician who doesn’t know we exist. You’re free to think and act differently.

IMHO, going through life only interacting with people and businesses and services who have the same political philosophy as me would be incredibly time consuming and thoroughly exhausting. Where do you start? A franchise owner of your favorite company is a Republican. Do you stop shopping there, harming the democratic corporate owner? Exhausting.

I love my family. I’m not shunning them over politics. Fortunately, they feel the same.

I don’t like being in an echo chamber all the time. I also am not willing to disown my friends and family because some have a different perspective on the trajectory of the country.

We live in a constitutional republic, as such, sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose. None of my conservative friends/family shut me out when Biden beat Trump, so why the hell would I do that to them?

It just makes us look like petulant children who didn’t get our way.

I think I'll need a couple months. I need to come to terms with the fact that so many people around me are evil and/or gullible. And then I'll fight back as as I can.

These MAGA assholes have their hands in so many pies that it's not feasible to economically sanitize myself of all of their stench. No matter how hard I try, a MAGA business owner will derive some benefit from almost every purchase I make. I can shop at Lowe's instead of Home Depot. I can go to KFC instead of Chick-fil-A. I can do Costco in lieu of Walmart/Sam's Club. Although not strictly MAGA, I cancelled my NYT subscription.

But, escaping Amazon Prime will be tough. And my job depends on a healthy US space industry, so I can't distance myself fully from any benefit derived from SpaceX launches.

It's hard to be pure.

Ace stores are different from Home Depot or Lowe's stores.

Whereas those two big boxes own all the stores with their logo on them, Ace stores are all independently-owned and the store owners are shareholders in the Ace distribution network. So while the local Ace might be owned by a MAGAt, not all of them are.

Except for building materials, anything that an Ace doesn't have that you might need can be bought at At Home or Cost Plus World Market. I flippin' LOVE Cost Plus - although I might not be able to once Trump tariffs them out of business. All the furniture in my house except the computer tables I already had and some pieces I either inherited or bought from thrift stores came from Cost Plus, as did the steel utility cabinets my vanities are based on. For hard-surface flooring, if you have a Floor&Decor store in your area...well, don't go in there if you don't have all day. My kitchen floor, tiled backsplash and bathroom wall tile are all Floor&Decor. (On one of my trips to the coast to shop Floor&Decor for backsplash tile I told one of the workers there that I'd driven 300 miles to get to his fine establishment. "They don't sell tile in Idaho?" "They don't sell THIS tile in Idaho.&quot

They are all pretty good, and one is beyond totally awesome. I merely used Lowe's in my OP because I read that it did not donate to the Orange Asshole's ® campaign.

I am going to wait until January to really kick in the boycotting/cutting back so that it doesn't start slowing the economy too much while Biden is still in office and blame him(again). Of course they will try to blame him for everything bad that happens anyway. In the meantime, I am buying as much as possible from pro-progressive retailers (progressiveshopper.com) and small businesses. I already excommunicated an uncle and aunt and their families after the first tRUMP admin when I found out they were supporters (good, holy Cathlolics-right!). Fortunately, the rest of my family are all sane liberals.
Let's all push hard with our boycotts!

So much of my family is gone already and life is too short for me to exclude those so misinformed or frightened they voted for Mr. Trump. I cannot waste energy in anger at those who did not vote either. I need my family and my energy for the fight that is ahead of us all.

That fight is the fight to save American democracy. We need to rescue our families from the fear mongering anxious pit into which they have descended IMHO
