1. I just tried getting in and I can't..

get past Step 3 User Name page.

So Frustrating.. I sent in 2 Contact Help Requests.. so I'll see if I can get any Help that way.

Signed up en masse a couple of days ago. Someone posted that they had the same problem - is the issue that user names are already taken? I believe there have been more than a million sign ups this week.

but the 3rd one didn't say that.. it just wouldn't let me Go the NEXT Step.

It did have this Message under my Name Request.. Which I don't know what that means!

Only contains letters, numbers, and hyphens

4. I think you need to capitalize one of your letters

and use a sign like #. Hypen might not be allowed.

here on DU that her name on BlueSky is Swamp Flower.. so that was confusing me.. it doesn't have any of those characters in her name.

29. I figured out what I was having trouble with Cha.

I was putting a space between Swamp Flower. It needs to be one word swampflower when you sign up! Then you get to choose a Display Name. It’s there that Swamp Flower works.

Hope this is the problem you’re having.

Or an internet time out. I had no troubles, but I'm usually doing things online when the big parts of the world (USA) is asleep.

15. Yes 2 user names i.tried were already used.

Finally just went with a phrase. So my user name is today is nice and it went through fine. Where I ran into trouble was proving I'm not a robot. Because of my lack ofeyesight some of the test images I couldn't figure out what I was looking at.

I'm amazed how quickly I've found great accounts (including many I liked from X).

As you problem-solve to get to make an account, you may want to try doing it in a different web browser than the new one. Sometimes that can help.

I was never a big X/itter user, but I'm also looking to move over from facebook (it's almost all just garbage and AI stimulus-response-psychological-profile-tuning crap now, I'm utterly sick of it).

So given the number of excellent posters here, I'd really appreciate some suggestions on how to get my Bluesky feed up and running.

What "starter packs" do you recommend? Hell, is there a "DU starter pack" floating around anywhere? Help a brother out
