I just don't see how this is going to work long term

I have nothing in common with these people.
This country is never going back to civil courtesy. I heard a pundit say today that they are going to take the country to the studs.
I don’t know how we can do anything except split or sneak into Canada and illegally vote for Trudeau.

Keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs.

although I have family abroad and possibly the means to leave, others do not.

Not giving up, it might be a different country in the long term, just look at other countries that have been reduced to a less prominent role, that might be us.

Hate to say it, but that could be us, but they survived in a lesser role.

ned with death last week. Starting in our own communities fundraising for our own elected.

We can all become familiar with Gene Sharpe's work, 128 methods of nonviolent resistance.

I just had the craziest day. I'd like to think together about the question what can we do than give up preemptively.
Oh yes, read or listen to On Freedom and On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder

because after short while it was much, much more difficult to leave to safety. It may come to it that people will be trying to leave here and are refused a passport. No passport means you don't leave if they don't want to let you and that will include US Customs being able to stop you at the border with Canada. I checked in 2016/17 for countries I could go to. As long as you have your passport, resources and move from country to country when your "visitor" time is up you'll be fine. The EU is super good because of the trains but you have to factor in the coming Russian aggression. As far as citizenship it varies but most of them have tightened up who they are welcoming. Remember what you've been seeing about immigrants being turned away all over the EU. Some countries around the world will sort of let you "buy" your way in but it's not cheap.

The old days when we could just become ex-pats somewhere and hangout are pretty much gone. Beyond a "visitation" period most developed countries have requirements in order for you to stay longer and they can be burdensome. Some have a waiting period before you can be a "visitor" again so it's not like go away for a month and then come back and start your allowed "visitor" period all over again. Too much crime over the years, drug running etc. and they don't want to be a haven.

I was looking into Ireland for a haven and citizenship since I know people there. It's not easy but if you can take the rain the Irish are some of the best people left on this planet.
