There's no downside for a recount

If everything is on the up and up, then the recount will verify that and we can move on. If everything is not on the up and up, then we should know that. Heck, I remember with Gore and Bush we didn't officially know for weeks. Then SCOTUS meddled. Harris shouldn't have had to be a perfect candidate or run a perfect campaign. She was well qualified and decent. As Biden would say, "Don't compare me to the almighty, compare me to the alternative." Trump ran his campaign as if nothing he did would change the outcome. That gives me pause. I'm realistic enough to accept Trump if I have to. But why would we they think they are above cheating? About somehow "finding" 11,780 votes here or there that could have affected the outcome. I'm for a recount whether it confirms or denies.

We concede too reflexively I think. Still wanting to believe in the system, despite all the evidence, from Bush v Gore to Fitzmas to Mueller to abandonment of stare decisis to the failure to go after any of the rampant grifting in the previous administration and the goon’s family.

Perhaps I'll just move on from voting, period. If they don't care enough to verify my vote, why should I care about voting?

Democrats don't.

I would really like to settle any of my doubts about the accuracy of the count. it's just too weird that Trump always overperforms the polls. Something else is going on. It might not be in the voting machines, but if it is, we'd better know asap.
It maybe all the supression, russian tactics on media and bomb threats, twitter, etc. I don't buy the shy Trump voter theory.
Even if the election was counted fairly, some audits please so we can't know that is not the problem?

But it won't happen, and if we ever reclaim our democracy, this too has to change.
