The far right wants us to feel powerless. Extremists are counting on apathy, cynicism, & heartbreak to be their rocket fuel. They are counting on us to point fingers at each other & lose trust in our ability to make change.
I absolutely refuse to give them the satisfaction.

(35,840 posts)Who make things happen, we need to be very selective about what is made to happen. These decisions are critical.
We are still in control of the outcome and without us, the whole scheme is a turtle on a post.

We are in a small window of time where many magas are waking the fuck up over what just happened. They ain’t going to get a pony and are realizing they are going to be just as fucked as the rest of us.
Before the scales go back on their eyes, before they reconvince themselves that “all is well” and plunge back into denial, we the Dems need to point out to them they are not alone.
And we are truly the people and we can work together.
No better opportunity to gain insight into their mental state and to undermine the still maga faithful is right now.
If we really want to fight the orange madman we need all the allies, no matter how repugnant, we can get
I like to quote General Eisenhower at times like this. The Germans had just broken through at the Ardens and the battle of the bulge just started. Eisenhower walks into a room with down cast officers. He looked around the room and said, “this isn’t defeat, this is opportunity!
Basically, when the enemy appears to be the most successful, it’s also the time when the enemy is most vulnerable.

(1,090 posts)the magots are all happy as clams. I sometimes check in on a forum where people of all political stripes do battle. The orange crowd absolutely loathes Democrats and they are debating who from the Biden administration should be locked up. Right now not a single one of them would ally themselves with the evil Democrats.

(63,444 posts)Lots of disillusioned magas out there

(19,724 posts)I went over there to see what was going on and fell down a rabbit hole full of FAFO stories about disappointed MAGA voters being upset because they had no idea Trump was going to fill in the blank -- even though he repeatedly said he going to fill in the blank at one rally after another. It was really something. Here's the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/LeopardsAteMyFace/

(85,394 posts)I didn’t think there were any. Hey, they got what they wanted and the people they hate and resent (the rest of us) are disillusioned and defeated. I suspect it’s celebration time for those bastards.

(2,280 posts)Their only regret is that they didn't get to put in place all of those 'fun' things they were itching to do our institutions and 'libs' had Kamala won. But don't worry, they will come up with Game Plan 2.0.
Mountain Mule
(1,090 posts)They are very happy right now. They may well experience buyers remorse once they begin to experience life under orange 2.0. But that's a way down the road when the leopards will be eating the entire nations face.

(85,394 posts)Good to hear! Ours are both Democrats - Senators Wyden & Merkley.
Unfortunately, in the past two years, I was "represented" by a Republican for the first time I can remember. HOWEVER, she just lost her bid for reelection, and we've got a Democrat, Janelle Bynum, taking over in January! And I CANNOT Wait!!!
I feel lucky to be in Mass. It seems like the state govt. works mostly the way state governments should work. I feel like I see my taxes working for me. Great educational and Healthcare systems and looking to help, not harm, its citizens.

(85,394 posts)We're not in too much trouble here in Oregon, either. And we're in the middle of an entire West Coast that's entirely BLUE, which is really reassuring when you stop and think about it. We're safe in the "Blue Wall."
And that means if we can, we're safe here, so we can help somebody elsewhere who isn't - even if only a little.
Gestures of kindness can mean an awful lot, for people who feel abandoned or stabbed in the back. ESPECIALLY WITH CHRISTMAS ON THE WAY.

(27 posts)Who alienated millions upon millions of working people who do not go to college with her get out of student loans for free program. If I'm a working guy and you're giving free education to people who were going to graduate and make big money, then guess what???? I'm never going to vote for you
THINK ABOUT IT.

(1,322 posts)but I don’t think there’s much ground between the far-right and the right. From my perspective they’re all MAGA now and we must confront their fascist movement any possible way we can.
