RFK @ HHS ...

This headline is less than a week old and it’s already impacting the life-saving research for cancer, infectious disease, and tons of other biomedical innovation. Both public and private biomedical researchers are now scrutinizing their budgets for 2025 and beyond. This includes university grants that fuel some of our most amazing research. It’s safe to say - nobody’s budget is increasing, most budgets are shrinking, and there’s a new shitload of anxiety over budgets being cancelled altogether.

Even if he’s not confirmed, the headlines and media circus about his potential cabinet position will stifle research and innovation. And kill people. Literally not figuratively.

In the clip below RFK talks about an eight year pause on drug research and development for NIH. Hopefully, the evangelicals can successfully “pray away” cancer for at least two of those eight years! Maybe three?

But, really, they only need one to two years to monetize HHS/NIH and enrich billionaires. So scream, shout, and defend an eight year pause and settle for a two year pause early next year. That’s the plan.
