‘Morning Joe’ Argues Trump’s Cabinet Picks Are Unqualified on Purpose: ‘They’re Trying to Wreck the Government’

Donald Trump surprised many over the past week with shockingly unqualified individuals being selected to run major facets of the government in his Cabinet. But the crew on “Morning Joe” argued on Friday that’s precisely the point: Trump and his administration don’t want to run the government, “They want to wreck the government.”

“What if the goal isn’t to run it, and the goal is in fact to ruin it? And what this is about is taking the president and his ideological betters at their word,” MSNBC analyst John Heilemann said on the program. “It’s about the thorough deconstruction of the democratic state. They’re trying to wreck the government, not run the government.”

Heilemann then argued that vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would actually be Trump’s ideal pick as Health Secretary.

“If that were the goal, Bobby Kennedy might be uniquely qualified to do that in the world of HHS because not only is he not able to run an organization this big, but he’s a paragon of misinformation and disinformation about health, which is another kind of toxicity and poison that he may introduce into the system if he gets this job.”

The GOP has a vested interest in doing as much. It's an integral part of their ideology. Especially now that there's effectively no one to stop them.

10. Yes and no. He's very unserious, but he is serious about them because he is retreating into dementia somewhat

He trusts fewer people these days, especially for key close people like the most powerful cabinet members. He put Lara tRump in control of RNC, he wants get her appointed to Rubio's seat.

With increasing signs of dementia, he is less able to process information about people and relies more on feelings.

Your bloody fingerprints are all over this, all the way back to 2016. There is a reason why, despite folks like Rachel or Joy , I cannot choke down MSNBC.

wonder how low they will go to keep filling these critical positions.

Your MAGA neighbor with the half dozen MAGA/NAZI flags might be your next new Cabinet member.

For years they've been declaring that "government doesn't work". Then they get elected and attempt to make sure it doesn't.

Trump thinks he's brilliant and is really going to make America great again, but he just turns out to be wrong about everything. This is classic narcissism. Trump does think that himself being a dictator, he could do the things that he thinks need to be done. It's Dunning Kruger meets narcissist.
