So I imagine trump isn't allowed to carry, but he probably does anyway and his parole officer is being overtly negligent.

(29,946 posts)Yes, under federal law, a convicted felon is generally prohibited from owning, possessing, or using a firearm; this is codified in 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) which states that individuals convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year cannot possess a firearm.
Federal law applies: This restriction applies nationwide under federal law.
