(36,088 posts)A lot of colleges and universities did not like the allegations of enabling racism and hatred--or the vandalism and intermittent violence and spewn hate--and have done things to tamp down the protests, sideline them. Often calling out supporting faculty and adjuncts, filing charges against students and esp. outside agitprop-sters.
A lot of protests are now metaprotests--less protesting what's happening in Gaza and protesting, instead, measures taken on campus.

When push comes to shove, they're often more concerned about the immediate status of local allies and friends than they are at continuing to focus "between the river and the sea". Local protection of student privilege >> dead families in Gaza, I guess.
