I have been sporadically watching them over the last 24 hours. During the day they peaked at 12 new members a second. At night, that dropped to 5 new members a second. Right now they're at 9 new members a second.

Social media, and just any major social media hub, is subject matter that should now be held with the strictest examination. There is just too much going on right now. Too much internet hijinks and nefarious powerplays taking place behind the scenes.
I would just like to see a grass roots revolution away from electronic social media and back into the fundamental (in the flesh) social circles of individual locales. Social media has driven society mad. For God's sake, the writing is on the wall!

Require email code to log into your account
and toggle that off.
Not sure which site you're comparing it to, but other sites have your preferences so that will help make them look better. Find and follow the people on Bluesky that you've been following elsewhere.

(72,444 posts)Have unused accounts on Xitter and Threads and have only used them on links in posts and news items, not for signing in. Just tried to deactivate Xitter and couldn't get in, was told to try later.
Went to Threads for the first time and had to go through instagram, then Threads looks like just scrolling, no discussion replies in sight. Just huh? Plus I had the impression it was an anti-Xitter thing so imagine my surprise to see MUSK posting a thread.
Will try ridding Xitter and registering on blues my tomorrow, back to the question which is better/easier. Thanks.

(52,440 posts)use as Twitter.
You can see the sort of thing on Bluesky just looking at this page: https://bsky.app/
To look at a specific message there with all the replies, click on the time/date after the account name (same as on Twitter, FB and Threads).
To look at that person's account, click.directly on the name.
Re "Elon Musk" being on Threads - I just searched there and none of the accounts using his name are really him.

(138 posts)These are communication satellites -- specifically, they provide Internet service in areas where terrestrial service is not available. Just about any terrestrial service is faster, cheaper, and more reliable than satellite service.
The only Bluesky access Musk could block would be for subscribers of the SpaceX service.
