General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI wonder if Morning Joe's viewership will drop so low the show could be cancelled. I can't imagine wasting time on this
show anymore, although I do like and admire the guests. Wondering also what many of the guests feel like with this little bit of news from them. They were a part of my a.m. routine, will have to find another source.

(277 posts)They are not trained journalists, per se, and neither has an academic or professional specialization in policy, economics, etc. Both have had moments of apparent public integrity, but they're both pragmatists and opportunists in equal parts. I'm neither surprised nor disappointed in this latest exercise in self-preservation.

Later she upgraded herself to MSNBC and (reportedly) started cheating with effing Joe.

(2,075 posts)to be a journalist, judge, general, educator, legislator, etc. who goes against Trump at this point.
Still, if those in the stratosphere of society don't have the courage to defend democracy that we demand of the lowest rank of the military that we send into battle, then why do those people deserve to be in the stratosphere of society? And what will become of democracy?

(11,207 posts)Journalism, or the actual reporting of the news, is an anachronism. These days "access" is the lifeblood of corporate media, their talking heads can't function without it. Mr. and Mrs. Scarborough will yuck it up with Donald whenever he calls in to their morning show.

(10,527 posts)I haven't watched any politics since the election, but I always liked MJ's mixture of opinion. Setting up a line of communication with Trump isn't a bad thing, really. We need to hear him on sources other than Fox and His Fiends.

(11,031 posts)I've enjoyed it and appreciate the view from a once rabid conservative. I like seeing him defend what was once seen as conservative even though I didn't agree with those views either. But it was good to have a rational old school republican see the con for what it was.
No more. That was a bridge too far for me with them going to grovel. See you Joe and Mika. I'll just work out and drink coffee in the mornings now

(17,013 posts)Watching the show this morning had me literally drop my jaw and feel sick to my stomach and disgusted.
I just know that whatever transpired to make them go down to Mar a Lago and kiss the ring and then sit there trying to justify and lecture about it (and shame on Mika bringing up her fathers name) is enough to make me realize that I will no longer watch their show.

(14,176 posts)They came on with footage from the riot, set to Johnny Cashs cover of Hurt. Powerful stuff. Then Joe dropped a lot of expletives the likes of which Ive not heard on live TV.
Now theyre doing this? Disgusting. Im done. Ive been limiting my exposure to news shows since the election, and now Im damn glad I did.

I didnt care that he used the F word, it was his pasting heavy blame on the Cap Police that was disgraceful.

(72,421 posts)because Drumpf will nuke them (Scabs/MikaMouse).
I stopped with them in 2012, don't remember but think Scabs was razzing on OBAMA. I stuck with MSNBC from its start, all the ups and downs and shocking remarriage, how Scabs pre-rearranged marriages ragged on PELOSI for a month daily. Have only listened on TuneIn to the pre-Scabs news reader while I'm dozing. Only click on Ari MELBER and Nicolle when clips are posted here.
*** Thinking of re-posting my pic of salacious Mika Mouse on the desk with leering Scabs, but it doesn't seem to be popular.

Morning Joes Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski normalizing Donald Trump after meeting with him at Mar-a-Lago on Friday. This is how we got President Trump the first time. They learned nothing.
Im posting the entire segment so folks can decide for themselves.
Also sharing in the thread a summary of Trumps second-term agenda

(812 posts)What common ground is that?
I think Mr. Peabody's coal train has hauled the common ground away.
They hang the man and flog the woman
Who steals the goose from off the common
But leave the greater villain loose
Who steals the common from off the goose
The law demands that we atone
When we take things we do not own
But leaves the lords and ladies fine
Who take things that are yours and mine
The poor and wretched dont escape
If they conspire the law to break
This must be so but they endure
Those who conspire to make the law
The law locks up the man or woman
Who steals the goose from off the common
And geese will still a common lack
Until they go, and steal it back

And Daddy, won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County?
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in asking
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away

(14,176 posts)I was so angry when I read the story in The New York Times just now. How dare they kiss Trumps ass. Are they afraid he may come after them at some point? Now they want to make nice, after going after him for four years? News flash: If Trump wants your ass, he will get it. So stop kissing his. Do your jobs.
I guess Katie Phang tweeted on X that it is a bad idea to normalize Trump. When in the HELL is anyone going to learn that lesson?
If I were one of the panel regulars, I would not appear on that show ever again. And if MSNBC pressured Joe and Mika to do this, then they should have the integrity to quit.
If MSNBC goes in the shitter, it has nobody else to blame.
