Keep in mind, mass media are owned and operated by corporations spreading lies for profit. What ever the market will bare and market is lies; it costs less to tell a lie than expend the energy to find the truth. Leaving consumers ignorant cynical and empty.

1. The firehose of falsehood

Over time it creates passivity and a sense of powerlessness. But for people who are curious and hungry for the truth, and can discriminate between news and propaganda, we can still know the truth--although it's sort of a thankless, hopeless task trying to convince MAGA cultists. We will have to be content just to know the truth for ourselves, and for the sake of knowing.
