I am a guitar player 40 plus years and I took a look at one of these and you are correct, this is a pile of junk. FAQ. No real information on his hawky ass pitch that a guitar player would need to know before laying down this kind of dough. Real FAQ for guitar purchase e.g. Scale length? Set neck or bolt on? Machine head manufacturer? Pick ups manufacturer? You could by 15 of those crapy guitars at music go round.

Literally the moronic nature of the American voter could not be underestimated enough.

I'm sure they'll bang out a 47 guitar in 2025. This has been one long grift since the beginning only real people are going to be hurt beyond belief.

I'm assuming Asian made.

While there are plenty of decent Asian guitars, I'd have to play one to determine if it's any good. If it has trump's signature, and slogans, I wouldn't touch one. Now a Harris endorsed guitar might be of interest.

...knockoff Gibson Les Pauls that flooded the market years ago. Looks like Gibson finally cracked down on the patent-infringing headstocks, though (the "open book" design has been modified), and the cutaway is slightly different. That's probably because Gibson is now making guitars in China as well (under the Epiphone name, I think), and they took out Chinese design patents.

...based on the headstock alone. The "open book" design is something Gibson claims as either "trade dress" or protected by a design patent; I can't remember which. The actual Les Paul "utility patent" (or patents) has/have long since expired, but a couple of decades ago, the LP knockoffs started to arrive on our shores, and Gibson started taking out design patents on aspects of the Gibson "look and feel" to hopefully stop the imports. (Another reason was that Paul Reed Smith, a high-end guitar company like Gibson, began making their "Singlecut" guitars which looked a lot like a Les Paul, but were arguably of higher quality. Gibson promptly sued them).

It's funny, but this is an ongoing story in the musical instrument business. There are any number of instruments over the years that became known as "lawsuit guitars": double-cutaway Les Paul Customs in the '80s (mostly from Yamaha and Ibanez), Chibsons starting in the late-'90s, etc. The guitarist in the Colbert Show band occasionally plays a "lawsuit guitar"; it's a Les Paul knockoff with a maple fretboard (!!) and black block inlays. I think it's a Univox from the '80s.

...is that the headstocks of the ones painted with the patriotic design bear the number "45" in a circle of stars.

Since he got elected to be the 47th president and that number would logically be on the headstock if he came up with this after the election, it appears that Trump has been working on this particular grift for quite some time.
