D. Earl Stephens: WHAT are they hiding? This gets more insane and dangerous everyday.

AP - Lawmakers are concerned about background checks of Trump’s Cabinet picks as red flags surface

WASHINGTON (AP) — As senators prepare to consider President-elect Donald Trump’s picks for his Cabinet, they may be doing so without a well-established staple of the confirmation process: an FBI background check.

The Trump transition team has so far not signed the requisite agreements with the White House or the Justice Department to allow the FBI to screen his personnel choices, both for the process of obtaining security clearances and meeting the Senate’s usual standards for nominations.

That means the Senate could be asked to vote on Trump’s picks without the usual rigorous background checking meant to uncover personal problems, criminal histories or other red flags that would raise questions about a nominee’s suitability for the job. There already are questions about problematic issues related to a number of the people Trump wants in his administration.

“There are very real liabilities on the security side if you don’t get this right,” said Dan Meyer, a Washington lawyer at the Tully Rinckey law firm who specializes in background checks, security clearances and federal employment law.

Biden and Democratic leadership should NOT budge until WE know who is taking over OUR government.

This was not a clean election by a long shot.

But the MAGAs provided cover for the dirty dealing.

There is still not much we can do at this point.

1. I believe the election was stolen in multilayered ways that will be hard to prove quickly.
2. No one action tipped the scales, it was all of it together.
3. I think tracks were covered.
4. Putin had to leave his calling card however with the Russian bomb threats to Dem precincts.
5. Putin is like a serial killer who always has to let everyone know who did the crime. This makes him
feel powerful and in control, and scares people.
6. Dems do not want to be seen as doing the same thing the GOP did.
7. Trump and the GOP are sociopaths and they usually accuse everyone else of their crimes.
8. So when victims report the crimes, the police and public are confused and don't know who to believe.

9. At this point there is not much to be done but let things play out, at least initially.
10. I believe our Dem leaders are staying calm and low profile.
11. They know what Putin does to those who resist.
12. Best to gather information, intelligence and make good plans.

the noise has gotten muffled, but for some reason I pick up mostly blame the Democrats opinions...in-person and on-line. It's like an avalanche of bullshit that isn't worth contemplating shoveling.

If the election was stolen but we are told the Dems need to make changes
then they are chasing a mirage, something that does not exist.

Better to figure out how the election was stolen and what to do about that.

But there is enough blame to go around. A post mortem based on reality would be useful.

They only read the BI's to know just how hard to laugh when the AG buries them in the compost pile.

"Let's get the chatbot to write a cleaner one!"

The only investigative power worth a nickel is the public and the press, and the press is complicit. They just hide facts more subtly. More with a whimper than a rototiller.
