Solved.

I live in Central Illinois, and we still have mouth breathing MAGAts giddily squealing about Dear Leader's triumphant return to disassemble Democracy. Yesterday, in no uncertain terms I made a 45 year old woman cry about her ignorant choice. I would do it again in a NY second. She has 3 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and believes that her husband should rule the roost. Her stupidity on any subject containing women's / minorities / gender neutral individuals was palpable. Again, words were exchanged....

They get Trump… you get to tell them off
In public?

Doesn’t seem like a winning trade off to me.

13. The subject line of the post has to do with the graphic shared, not the anecdote.

I think that's where the confusion lies. The question "How?" was solved by the acknowledgment that Americans are in large part, poorly educated.

I don't agree with the "solution" to the question, too simplistic an answer. But that's how I took it.

17. I feel the same way. It's no kind of trade-off.

I'm dreading the Christmas holiday season. My stepson and his wife, along with their two small children will no doubt be visiting family here for about a month. He voted for TSF this time out after having voted all earlier elections for Dems. He told my husband that it's because of inflation, and because he relocated to arguably one of the most expensive places on the planet: Los Angeles mid-city. He's not a professional though college educated. He's been dabbling in the drone business for about ten years and previously was able to get gigs in the studio production businesses, which seem to be dwindling down to almost nothing these days. He chose to move out there (and previously he moved to NYC for an ad job.

I get his frustration with the high cost of housing, but that wasn't the fault of Biden or Dems. Now he's thrown his lot down with Old 45 expecting that things are going go gangbusters. He and his wife and are daughter about to be on receiving end of that their orange Jesus is about to drop on top of them. I'm not going gloat because we'll all be in the same leaking (sinking?) boat, but I do not choose to spend time with him or anyone else that chose to self-lynch.

3. tRump is famous for saying "We love the poorly educated". But he misuses even that

He loves them because he can manipulate them.

The poorly educated should be loved to help them, but not to use them shamelessly to get elected so that he can abuse them for the well-educated old rich white men such as himself.

the word "grade" is missing after "6th."

It is also not accurate. The average reading level in America is around the 7th - 8th grade mark. It is estimated that about half of Americans cannot read an 8th grade level book. Which would blow my mind, except for the fact that they are specifically referencing English language literacy.

Unfortunately, print media publishes around the 10th-11th grade level. Some publications written at a level that requires some college level reading ability.

Dumbing written communication down is a great way to attract a propaganda following. Trump's third grade speech? Resonates as totally understandable by too many people.

I hope no one here wonders why Republicans have been hell bent on sabotaging the educational system in our country for decades.

6. The world may actually be far too complicated to be ruled by people who can't understand a newspaper article

Sad to say. Technology, science, global market interdependency, are all too high- order and intricate for many to understand and so they emotionally cling to the voice that reassures them they're accepted and understood.

That is why they thought Ms. Harris was babbling gibberish. They think the same about much of what Joe Biden says. They cannot understand big words, or compound complex sentences.

16. And I believe that we Democrats are responsible for a lot of this. Remember all the drives to make it so easy to vote?

Well when you can register any citizen with a heart beat, guess what you get. A lot of people with only a couple of working brain cells.
When a person at a DMV keeps asking are you registered to vote? Are you sure you don't want to? Are you positive you do not want to register?

Years ago really only well informed people voted. Most people are just damn stupid.

Take shoes. It used to be the shoes required a person to tie them. But people did not have the common sense to tie their shoes.
Enter loafers. Solved that problem. Opps, they required a person know how to shine them.
Years go by.
Now people just wear flip flops.

We used to think that when more people voted everything would be better. They would elect better people.

Nope. They elect people who think like themselves.
