Wow. Gaetz withdrew as AG nominee SIX MINUTES before CNN broke this story. CNN had called him for a comment, telling him the story would post at 12.30pm.

He announced his withdrawal at 12.24pm.

we will get through this. The news had to make his awful cabinet picks top story and threaten to release details. Anyone with an ounce of shame will drop out. (I know, I know)

But it worked for Gaetz. Hegseth should be next. This is how it should work.

Hopefully the senate is paying attention and holds strong against his foolishness.

"The NEWS had to make his awful cabinet picks top story."

It is "The NEWS" that got us into this mess - FAILURE to report FACTS and TRUTH. Doing a 'little bit' now does not fix the mess they created and supported.
We have SO much work to do..................

But, WELCOME to DU - we can use all the help we can get!

Susan Collins: A History of Broken Promises

3/20/18: Senator Collins shows that she is willing to negotiate away a woman’s right to make her own medical decisions in an effort to woo support of conservatives in the House for her bills. The move is decried by the Maine Medical Association and women’s health care providers criticize:

“U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine has joined with Republican colleagues to introduce a bill that they say aims to stabilize health insurance premiums in the individual market. Some elements of the legislation have the backing of national insurance, physician and hospital groups. But one major sticking point is a provision that critics say would effectively eliminate abortion coverage, even in private plans.”

The reason that the committee refused to release their findings was because they supposedly don’t proceed when a member leaves Congress….if he comes back it could be released.

I don’t know, he isn’t well liked by either side. Will Gates chance it or will he expand his old gig, trafficking young girls and drugs. It could be quite lucrative among his MAGA crowd.

Just my thoughts.

58. Gaetz withdrew after CNN called him about second alleged sexual encounter with the minor
Thu Nov 21, 2024, 05:47 PM

Gaetz knew that he had to withdraw

CNN drops bombshell news that Matt Gaetz withdrew as Attorney General just 45 minutes after they called to ask him about a SECOND alleged sexual encounter with the minor.

This just got so much worse...

The woman who claims that she had sex with Gaetz when she was still a minor reportedly told the House Ethics Committee that she had two sexual encounters with him at a party in 2017.

This second encounter had not been previously reported and allegedly including another adult woman. Both allegations appear in a civil deposition related to a lawsuit tied to the allegations.

It appears that Gaetz realized this revelation would sink his nomination completely and chose to withdraw to get ahead of the story.

His sudden panicked decision raises an obvious question: Is there more sexual misconduct he hopes to keep hidden?
