Forget the war on Christmas. The real war is against Thanksgiving. Starting the day after Halloween, the ads for Christmas are virtually wall-to-wall on TV and elsewhere. Stores are staring Black Friday early....not on the day after TGD. I realize that Thanksgiving has it's own set of problems that have to do with colonialism and offending indigenous peoples, and these are real and serious issues. But, at least it was a secular holiday and maybe that's the problem. There is no "holy event" that links to Thanksgiving. Virtually every culture has a sort of harvest festival in their Fall season, and this was ours. But, now it is totally supplanted by early Christmas things everywhere. I'm already sick of Christmas carols in stores. Are there no turkey napkins? No pilgrim hats? No cornucopias? There are not......just Christmas trees. Everywhere. All the time.

It's also multiple verses and the ones we dropped off talk about picking up girls, racing other sleighs, and a crash while doing so. Kind of a 16 year old teenage rebellion song!
