if u r planning to purchase a major appliance, do it this week.

i had to buy a dishwasher the other day.
i got $400 off a $900 dw cuz black friday. the last time i looked, earlier this year, the cheapest 1 i saw was about $800, iirc.
this wasnt the cheapest 1 they had, which i might have bought. but was able to get a better 1 for what the cheapest were going for a few mos ago.

cuz we know when the tariffs fly, prices will go nuts. and they’ll all be puttin a little gravy on the price increases. boosting their profits, cuz they can. just like they did during the plague.

Some parts are made in different countries, but most of the final assembly happens in China. Imposing a 40-60% tariff on their already high cost would make them unaffordable for many people.

Android has always been more affordable, and while I’ve always had iPhones I don’t come close to knowing about or using most of the features.

when Trump did tariffs, Tim Cook at Apple convinced Trump not to put Tarrifs on Apple Products.

Also For what it is worth, my carrier is offering an $800 trade in on my old iPhone for a new IPhone 16, making the new iPhone cost me only $99.00. Maybe yr carrier has something similar

purchased from Back Market and pay $60 per month for Consumer Cellular which uses the AT&T network.

I won’t add a link to Back Market because I’m not selling anything. I’ve great success with them and reselling is eco-friendly.

My old one was dying, so I got it done before Jan 20.

After Jan 20, I am going to ruthlessly scrutinize any non-essential spending.

Bought it Sunday. We discussed that the price will go up. I suspect skyrocket. Even items made here will be affected because parts made elsewhere. There is no bringing jobs back because most are automated and robots.

Low impact on electricity and water. A few drops of dish soap is cheaper than those high cost dishwasher packs. We, in my houshold, are learning to live on the edge.

We had a family gathering and I decided to load it up and let it do the work while we played with the little ones. But for just me? Good heavens even the hand washed plastic dries and gets put away faster than the dishwasher does it.
