Trump loves being worshipped as an economic genius. He will have to water down his policies to keep that.

Billionaire tax cuts, mass deportations, tariffs, the culling of a million of public service jobs---these will wreck the economy and Trump's delusion that he is a financial guru. We know how thin-skinned he is and how his ego has no limits, so it's not hard to imagine that when the stock market starts going south, and inflation, deficits, and unemployment all start going up again, he's going to have to rapidly u-turn to save his reputation. My point is, maybe these things won't be as drastic as we fear.

This may be true, but he can't fix the stock market, and his oligarchs don't want that to go down. Doodley Friday #3

it does seem as if his, and many of his oligarchs, core business is insider trading, and that the current sec, much less his new appointees, do not seem interested.
