As Trump removes competent civil servants, Dems should work with those civil servants to get their stories out.

Give them a voice along with Democratic lawmakers. Maybe a regular podcast, letting people know exactly who is being fired, how well qualified they are, and what is being dismantled and lost.

It's important that we remind people these are not just faceless bureaucrats doing jobs of no importance at all.

And having lots of Democratic members of Congress on such a podcast with them would give those members plenty of opportunity to talk about what Trump is destroying.

A podcast like this would provide lots of quotes and video clips to circulate on social media as well.

We can't count on traditional media alone to cover all the important stories in this assault on our government and all it does for the people.

I hope an enterprising podcaster picks it up!

Time to read The Hunger Games Again! Amazingly, in The Mockinjgay (3rd book in the trilogy), the rebels did exactly this to increase resistance against the oppressors. They began a broadcast series called “We Remember” about the Tributes and others who lost their lives to Panem. It was highly successful.

OTOH don't expect much from the public, and be prepared for disappointment, they just showed their ass in the worst way voting for this orange menace.

At this point there is pretty much a consensus that Democrats need to evolve. No one has the silver bullet answer but we need to start trying things. Maybe they don't pan out but you never know when one idea might lead to another, then another maybe even better idea, then something really good that no one even saw coming. This is a good idea to start with.

Evidently, that’s interpreted as tough and strong or something.

When Kamala was nominated, I said here on DU that I hope she decides to go for a mean campaign. I got poo poo-ed…but I clearly was right. We are way too nice which makes no sense when you’re fighting demonic debauchery,

You should put this out there on Bluesky! There are lots of podcasters on there, some well-known, some new. It's a damn good idea, and they've already got the infrastructure in place to do it. Just a thought...

They should also try to preserve any essential knowledge about the agency and its operations that may be destroyed so that evidence can be gathered, or knowledge rebuilt after they fail.

happen almost immediately if Trump and Musk follow the example of Argentina's Milei, as they've said they plan to do.

They're also planning a propaganda war to brag about their cost-cutting. It looks as though Musk's DOGE, with a related podcast, and the House subcommittee MTG will head will be the focus of that.

What I'm suggesting could be a Democratic response in real time.

I see no pushback from the Media and I see Dems with any power rolling over.

I see a podcast in the face of fascism a leaf in a tornado.

don't try to talk others into giving up.

You can retreat into a personal bubble, or flee to another country and try to tune out what's happening here, but that won't help anyone other than yourself, and then only if you can convince yourself no one else matters.

Trump is a threat not just to our democracy but to the world, its democracies, and the environment.

The same is true of Musk and rightwing tech bros like him. Musk is already planning to use his money and platform to bring down liberal governments in other countries. Not opposing what he and Trump are doing here just makes it easier for them to try to undermine democracy elsewhere.

And there's plenty of pushback from the media still, even if some have already caved.

It's not that no one matters, we fought, and on Nov, 5th, we lost. There is little I can do now except make myself feel better thinking anything I do means anything.
