COP-29 is Ending Soon-Was It a Failure?

COP-29 seems to have been a near-failure. What's your opinion about this? I think next year's (in the Amazon) will be better..if we are not in the aftermath of a global thermonuclear exchange.

Just like the previous years. Each country makes a bunch of promises that none are able to keep. The COP became an expensive event where politicians, royals, activists, and celebrities show up for a vacation and photo op.

Unfortunately, most people dont care about the environment until it negatively affects their neighborhood.

I had the honor and privilege to sit in on two meetings with Vice President Gore during my time in government service. His passion and determination to drive solutions to a problem ( in my case, capturing and distributing climate data ) inspired all of us in those meetings to do our best to solve the issue.

If we had only listened to him more then.

What we can all do to combat this. I try to do little things that I can manage, like recycling some things, but I’m getting too old to do a lot. We don’t go a lot of places. I don’t know how much difference one person can make and so many don’t want to do anything.
