I could be wrong, but I think the rule is if he serves more than two years, it counts as a term

The 22nd Amendment sets the max at ten years.

no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.

Per the 22nd Amendment, the longest someone can be President is ten years. If he becomes President at least one day over two years due to something happening to tsf, then he can only run for President once.
